May I go now
Don't you think the time is right?
May I say good-bye to pain-filled days
and endless lonely nights?
I've lived my life and done my best,
an example tried to be,
So can I take that step beyond
and set my spirit free?
I didn't want to go at first.
I fought with all my might!
But something seems to draw me now
to a warm and loving light.
I want to go! I really do!
It's difficult to stay.
But I will try as best I can
to live just one more day .
To give you time to care for me
and share your love and fears.
I know you're sad and are afraid
because I see your tears.
I'll not be far, I promise that,
and hope you'll always know
that my spirit will be close to you
wherever you may go.
Thank you so for loving me.
You know I loved you too.
That's why it's hard to say good-bye
and end this life with you.
So hold me now, just one more time,
and let me hear you say,
because you care so much for me,
you'll let me go today.

This such a sad time for you. I know a bit about pancreatitis in humans and it is a really miserable thing to have. You are making the best decision for him. If you can afford it, and can find a vet to come to your home to put him to sleep, that is really the easiest way for your dog to go. You can hold him in your arms while the vet gives the 2 shots. If you have a yard, maybe you could put your dog to rest there. We have done this with a cat and a dog. Our children found it comforting to have a little funeral service, too.

If you cannot find a vet to come to your home, then the kindest way is to take your dog to a vet and stay with him during the procedure. Please do not just drop off your dog; there have been stories of unscrupulous vets not disposing of dogs properly. As a last resort, you can take your dog to the humane society, but you may find that you are not allowed to stay with him. Those places usually call in a vet once a day to euthanize all their dogs at the same time.
You are obviously a very caring person, and I know you will do the best for your dog.

Our vet did it for under $100. and a small fee to dispose of the body. My son just had this done for his Weimeriener, she'd been hit by a car...

Try taking it to a local animals shelter. Sorry about your dog, I know how it feels to watch your dog slowly slip away like that.

Go to your vet. They will help you out. They give two shots--the first one puts him to sleep and the second stops the heart.

Call your vet. Gresham doesn't mean anything - have no idea where that is. Good luck.
