and how long does it take to get to second degree?

Yes, the first black belt you get is a first degree black belt.
The time it takes to get a second degree depends on the art, style, school, and your skill.
In Karate it takes 3-5 years to go from white to first degree black, then it takes another 3-4 years to go to second degree and another 3-4 to go to third degree.
You don't automatically get them for spending time in class. Your art has to grow to certain levels. There are people who get to first degree and never pass it.

The original belt colors in Kajukenbo were: white, purple, blue, green, brown and black. Some schools have added yellow and orange belts between the white and purple belts. Other schools have added double color belts. So, J, you are correct. There isn't a single school around the world that teaches the same style that uses the same order of colored belts. At least not in Kajukenbo, but maybe there is a relatively obscure style that is practiced by very few people, and they more or less kept things the same all these years throughout the world. But until this style is found, let us assume that you are correct.

It's not supposed to be. Sometimes, my master lets a black belt who has been doing taekwondo for a long long time test for second degree and skipping first degree. If it's someone who practiced regularly, than he would test them for 1st degree first.

YEs, it's 1st degree. In my kids form, you are Sibak, then Sifu, and so on. To earn degrees you usually teach for a period of time. That is how you earn more degrees and more belts beyond black, e.g. Grand Master, etc.
