I think they should definitely be armed ... and use their weapons at least in self defense ... the people coming across our borders are to a man illegal, and not all of them are "poor people here to better themselves" ...

They should have the option to carry firearms. It is legal in the border states. It is for self defense. It is not a violation of the law.
Read the Minuteman mission statement. Self defense only, do not engage Illegals or their guides, do not restrain them, do not harm them. Just make a phone call to alert Border Patrol. They don't want racists, or trigger happy loose cannons. They want to stop the unregulated tide of Illegals, (not just Mexicans, as they have missions up North too).
So many people cannot separate situations in to degrees. Ex: GUNS ARE BAD! No-crimminals with guns are bad. A reality is that crimminals will always have them, and sane, law abiding people should have the option to carry them as well. They won't rob you with them, shoot Illegals or your neighbor"s cat.

why do you want to shoot the illegals? coz they are here illegally ? doing a job that you would not do? or the color of thier skin?
yes they are here illegally but they pay taxes, somewhat, do things i wouldnt do and for a lot less pay and live in conditions in thier home country that would make you think twice about stepping into...
i dont support them being here either they burden our schools with 3 times as many children causing overcrowding
drive our economy down
and cant read write or speak american
its still against the law to shoot them no matter what you think is right,,man 1 still gets you 20 to life

You know that's not a smart idea.....What if they shoot and kill some illegal just trying to cross over? You know border patrol agents have to take psychological testing, among others, to make sure they are of sound mind?
How do we know some minuteman with hate towards an illegal won't go out and just starting killing for the fun of it? Its not proper and its a bad idea....
Besides, I don't trust them without a gun and even less with a gun.

I'm against illegal immigration and im wholeheartedly proud of the Minutemen but i don't think they should have guns and I'm sure most of them feel the same way ... the minutemen do not want to hurt illegals in fact they have been know to help allot of them. The minutemen are just trying to protect the American way of life.

There are signs posted on private hunting leases all over southern Texas telling whoever sees someone trying to cross to shoot them. This is on leases of thousands of acres so if someone actually did shoot one they wouldn't be found anytime soon. I didn't see any, luckily, while I was there. I wish I would have had a camera to take a snap of that sign though.

A lot of the Minutemen DO carry guns, for self protection!!!!!!!!!!! The border is a DANGEROUS place to be!!!! I KNOW,since i live in a border state!!!! There are incidents with ILLEGALS, drug runners, and federales, that WE hear about, but that NEVER gets on the news!!!!!!!!

Absolutely NOT, they are NOT the boarder patrol police, they have no business shooting, tazing, or otherwise harming other human beings.
To do so only makes them more of the vigilantes they already are!

I think they should have guns for their own protection, but only if they have had the same arms training as the border patrol.
