Get Oral B electric tooth brush, brush teeth for two full minutes and brush tongue for another full minute. The reason for the serious tongue burshing is because some people have a clear to brownish coating of smelly mucous on the tongue and it takes REAL brushing to clear it off. You have to brush your entire tongue from front to very back - and it might make you gag, but you have to do it or you WILL always suffer from poo breath! You will know if your breath is fresh when your tongue is pink and you lick the back of your hand and it doesn't smell like crap! Also, drink plenty of water.

What are you eating? Hot sauces and things like that can contribute. Brush your tongue and see your dentist, you could have gum disease. Or if you have a sinus infection or cold that can make your breath really bad no matter how much you brush. Believe it or not I heard garlic is a good natural cure for that. I would chew some minty sugarless gum though. good luck.

Buy a toungue scraper. They're cheap, and easy to use...just scrape after you brush, and then follow with mouthwash. You should see results right away. Bad breath can also be a sign of a dental problem-perhaps you need a cleaning or you have a cavity??? If the toungue scraper doesn't work, visit your dentist.

I have the same problem. I've tried everything. Let me know if you find something that works. I thought I have oral thrush, but I'm not sure. It is only on my tongue, and doesn't spread to other parts of my mouth.

Most cases (85–90%), bad breath originates in the mouth, sinus and throat. The intensity of bad breath differs during the day, due to eating certain foods (such as garlic, onions, meat, fish, and cheese), obesity, smoking, and alcohol consumption. Since the mouth is exposed to less oxygen and is inactive during the night, the odor is usually worse upon awakening ("morning breath"). Bad breath may be transient, often disappearing following eating, brushing one's teeth, flossing, or rinsing with mouthwash.
Causes:
1, Tongue, A common location is the tongue. Tongue bacteria produce malodorous compounds and fatty acids, and account for 60 to 70% of all cases of mouth-related bad breath. Methods used against bad breath, such as mints, mouth sprays, mouthwash or gum, only temporarily mask the odors created by the bacteria on the tongue, but cannot cure bad breath because they do not remove the source of the bad breath.
Cleaning the tongue - Many companies promote tongue scrapers as a bad breath cure however the bacteria on the tongue can’t be removed with a scraper or brush as they live between the taste buds. 2. Mouth, There are over 600 types of bacteria found in the average mouth. Other parts of the mouth may also contribute to the overall odor, but are not as common as the back of the tongue. Management:

5. Maintaining proper oral hygiene, including daily tongue cleaning, brushing, flossing, and periodic visits to dentists and hygienists. Flossing is particularly important in removing rotting food debris and bacterial plaque from between the teeth, especially at the gum line.
