I believe that you can have all the money and material things that life on earth can offer and be spiritually bankrupt. Given the choice I chose to be rich on the inside. I have a rich soul within. What are the chances of getting into heaven with your BMW? NONE ! You can't buy your way into Heaven with material things or money. I would rather be financially bankrupt than spiritually bankrupt. After all, you cant take that BMW with you or that million dollar mansion. Your soul is your ticket into eternity. Don't let this world get you twisted and caught up in worldly things for they shall pass away. Dont get me wrong. Enjoy life while you are here on earth. Just don't forget that eternity is forever. This is just a temporary stop along the way. The Poetess will end on that note. Be blessed and bless someone else along the way.

I appreciate the responses I have received from everyone. However, some have commented that I did not ask a question. I did ask a question. How important is it to maintain a relationship with Jesus? Is a question (just by noting the ? at the end. Anything else added was given as a choice to elaborate on my own personal walk and lessons, values and what my answer is to this question. Thank you all and Be Blessed.

Servanthood: A Call to Growth
Ephesians 4:11-16

Spiritual Growth:

Kids love to show off their height. They eagerly anticipate being tall enough to do all the things that their short stature currently prevents. Many parents record and celebrate their children’s growth, following the old tradition of marking heights on a doorframe.
God the Father also measures His children’s growth — He delights in seeing us reach new levels of spiritual maturity so that we can accept greater responsibility.
Because a new believer is like a little child in faith, his or her kingdom tasks are, at first, light. God is beginning the transformation process that will grow a saved human being into the image of Christ. The call to servanthood requires us to do as the Lord Jesus did: act humbly on behalf of our fellow man. When we successfully minister where we are called, new opportunities will open up and offer fresh challenges.
Spiritual growth impacts our fruitfulness; the longer we’ve been believers, the greater our service should be. That does not mean tasks will be highly visible. Satan tries to convince people that some jobs are trivial, but the moment a believer falls for that lie, growth is stunted. God will promote those who put forth the best effort, no matter what the task is.
Every opportunity to bless others honors the Lord and increases a believer’s wisdom and stature before Him. Much of God’s work goes on where only He can see it. But He is always measuring His children for future service, gauging how much closer we are to His goal for us and what new task will draw us closer still.

God Desires Your Success

1 Samuel 15:22

God wants you to be successful. This does not mean He has an automatic plan for you to become rich or famous, although either of these may be included in His ultimate design for your life.
God's idea of success begins at the Cross where Jesus died. Success is not measured by what you do in life or what you gain financially. Your love and devotion to Jesus Christ measure your success.
In 1 Samuel 15, we read how Saul decided he would offer a sacrifice that only God's anointed priest was commissioned to offer. Since Samuel was not present, Saul felt justified in his actions and made the sacrifice himself.
This one act of disobedience cost Saul the kingdom. Here is a lesson we need to learn if we are going to be successful. God anoints certain people to do certain things. He has placed leaders in our lives for a reason. If we want to lead, we must first learn to follow.
If you fail to submit to your God-given authority, then success from God's perspective will be difficult to achieve.

A successful person has learned humility to the point that he no longer thinks about whether he has gained it or not.
We are called to do the will of God, but this only can be done at the feet of Christ.

Good Question

My relationship with Jesus is very minor in comparison to my relationship with God. I take many of Jesus's lessons to heart. Kindness, even to those who have wronged me is the one I use most often, yet when I pray it isn't to Jesus, because above all else he is only God's son and God is the one we are supposed to maintain a relationship with. By the way, my spiritual bank account is at an all time high, while my financial situation is less than glowing.

There are some good answers for this statement of yours. Its not a question. Anyway, what you want is correct. Relationship with Jesus should be maintained, cultivated, and the fellowship should grow from level to level. No parent would like his child to be a dwarf. God the Father would like us, His children, to grow in fellowship with His family. That happens when we read the Bible and spend time in prayer, communing with God and waiting to hear Him. That's how we grow in the Lord and make God happy.

"Your soul is your ticket into eternity". This is wrong. Jesus is your ticket into eternity. Understanding the blood sacrifice and EVERYONE'S sin it covered is crucial. Also understanding that grace is a gift that cannot be earned. Confess your sins and repent of your ways. We cannot change of our own accord. Pray to Jesus for the help that he already knows you need. Pray for the faith to keep you strong. Desire what he desires and try to live the life he knows is best for you.

Yours in Christ,
A fellow Christian

Jesus is the be-all and end-all of every moment to insure that I am genuinely the unique individual that Almighty God made me to be. Apart from Him, I can do nothing (John 15:5). Unless Jesus is the source of my motivation, the focus of my sight, and the One to whom I am most loyal, there can be no true love and nothing of consequence in my life.

It is infinitely important to maintain a relationship with Jesus.
