does anyone know anthing about thier training methods, are they used today by any modern military?

There are few books out on this subject. I suggest Osbrey's Waffen SS. Very short book but has a breif on their training. Note that they were not trained as well as the German Army or but their motivation was much greater. The SS had a very strick health requirement such as height, teeth without fillings etc. This ofcouse changed later in the war when man power was being depleted.

There are several books on the subject, have a look on Amazon.

Read the book "The Forgotten Soldier" by Guy Sajer. It doesn't have a lot in it about recruit training, but it is an excellent first hand account of a Wehrmacht soldier on the Russian Front.

basically the same as any other military..except for the brainwashing. They were heavily exposed to propaganda of the time. The SS were more like our Marine Corps...training was more strenuous..and more advanced.
