Now I know that you right now don't believe/highly doubt His existence, so that's not the question. If I could somehow absolutely prove to you the validity of the Bible in a way that you could not deny, would it make you happy or upset? Why?

I'm not looking to pick a fight. I'm just a curious person who would love to know what you're thinking here.

Heck yes. If you could prove the validity of the Bible to me in way that I could accept, I would sign up as a Christian in a heart beat. I hate not believing in anything. I have read many parts of the Bible, particularly the Old Testament, and I just can't get myself to believe that a loving God operates in this way. I have discussed my feelings with many thoughtful Christians, but up to this point, I still feel a huge amount of doubt in my heart. Also, I suspect that even if I could accept all of the stories in the Bible, I would still have lots of problems being a Christian because I am just basically an evil (not so much as some, but evil nonetheless) person who has so little control of his emotions.

I hope you Christian people are right. And if you are right, I hope your God will show mercy on people like me who are lost and can't find their faith. A world with God, i.e. a world with meaning, is better than a world without any God. Any atheist who says otherwise is either jaded or selfish.

I don't doubt about Gods existence, because God is Real and is the Absolute Eternal. To know if god is real, just put your palm on the left side of your chest. you'll feel the thump thump of your heart. are you making it beat? the answer is no, God is making your heart beat in your chest. we all are vile, abject, subservient creatures of the One Alone God. The word God means:
G-Generator
O-Organizer
D-Destroyer
God is the generator and organizer of everything in this universe and its beyond, according to einstein.."No material thing is capable to create by itself." If a simple machine requires the services of an engineer to run it, then how can one think that the whole universe is being run without God? everything is moving in its prescribed limit till Gods judgement comes to pass and after that everything will perish, nothing will remain except God, as God is the Absolute Eternal. God neither begetteth from any father nor God has any son, and nothing is comparable to God. as God has said in Torah:
I__and__ I Alone am God
no other god is real.
I give death and I give life
I wound and I heal
and no one can oppose
what I do.

it is also stated in the Torah:
"Worship no god but me
do not make for yourself
images of anything
in the heavens or on earth
or in the waters beneath the earth.
For I am the God your Lord
and I tolerate no rivals."

I would be neither happy or upset. The reason why many atheists are atheists is because they are keen observers of truth. If the Bible was proven true, then I would adjust my life to that which should be followed by a believer. Then again, perhaps the truth of the Bible is of truth which no one yet understands and therfore might change the face of any religion based off of the Bible. Till shown valid, we atheists will continue our existences without the use of faith and with the use of human ability.

I don't think I would feel happy or angry. In some ways it would make life easier, knowing there was some great power watching over you. In other ways I would have problems with it. God in most religions is very judgemental of some things that don't cause harm to others, belief in God is the most important thing, if those were true then I wouldn't like the God very much.

The existence of God is essentially irrelevant.

Religions claim their morality stems from God. That isn't true.

God does not define morality. Morality defines God.

Any God who would commit the atrocities described in the Torah, Bible, and Koran should never be worshiped.

Morality stems from empathy, which should already be present in any intelligent species. If humans are truly an intelligent species, then they do not need to base their "morality" on the demands of God.

If, hypothetically speaking, that happened...

I'd be kind of angry, and a little worried. The christian god, as described in the bible, has a very objectionable personality. He's petty, violent, and completely irrational. The fact that he claims to "love" us does not excuse his disturbing behavior.

If it turned out that there was a god who was not the god described in the bible, i'd feel curious. i'd have many things i'd like to ask, if he were willing to talk.

Well hypothetically if that ever happened, which is highly doubtful if not impossible, I guess I would have to change my views. I wouldn't be dissapointed or angry, because I never claimed to know either way, that's why I'm agnostic.

There's no way you can prove the validity of the everything in the Bible because parts of it have already been proven completely invalid.

If there was empirical evidence that beyond a shadow of a doubt that proved my beliefs wrong then I would re-examine my beliefs. However, I do not believe proof like that will be forthcoming.

Yes, it would be wonderful if there really was a god. It would also be horrible. I'm not sure I'd like a god that treated his "beloved creations" so capriciously.
I'd go on, but there's really no point. I won't change your mind, and you won't change mine.
So let's leave it at this. I hope you're right, and that you get to go to your heaven.
