I have depression and I never seem to get it under control. I take meds and some weeks I feel great, but if anything in my life gets disrupted, the depression kicks in and doesn't seem to go away for a few weeks. Will this be an on going problem or can I ever live a normal life?

For every problem, there is a solution. I have suffered from social anxiety, shyness, depression, and low self-esteem. As a result of learning all I could about these conditions, I was able to beat those demons and I must say that I have grown a lot over the years. I think a big part of getting your depression under control is believing that it is possible, having a strong desire to do it and finally learning how to do it. Check out Worry Busters at http://www.wayneburke.com for a lot of resources which I found very helpful in making me a happier person. Good Luck.

Yes, absolutely...the thing is, you have to be sure that you're on the right combination of medicine. If your meds aren't working, then you need to tell your doctor so they can make the appropriate changes. Therapy helps as well. Maybe there is something going on besides depression...either way, run it by your doctor.

Depression is very depressing. If you are oppressed, compressed or wear sta-pressed, you will be unimpressed. And don't be easily impressed, distressed or undressed. Go buy a dress, work the press and be the best! Have fun - life is great!

I too suffer from Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder. No ones understands the suffering till you live it so my heart goes out to you friend. I would recommend "Attacking Anxiety And Depression" Program by Lucinda Bassett. A bit pricy but has really saved my life. You can find the site on the internet of course. Also getting "Behavioral Therapy" is a must! It re-trains you to think and percieve things around you differently and has helped me immensley. Also, nothing is better medicine than a shoulder to lean on and a ear to listen. I hope you have the support you need. May Irish Blessings be with you.
