When I told my hubbie that I wanted to start a family...he said we were crackers even contemplating bringing kids into this world considering the mess it was in!! Now with various conflicts around the globe, paedophiles living in our communities, global warming, house prices (how the hell are the future generation going to be able to afford to get on the housing market!), increase in violent crime, basically needing an NVQ just to clean toilets, everyone suing each other, the disrespect, anything not tied down getting pinched.......I think the Government have lost control!!

The only thing I can do to make my kids futures a better one..is to teach them respect, support them with school work, show them family values and basically to love them! Also....to teach them that life is what you make of it!! I think spending time with them is very important....and too many parents don't make enough of this....too busy with their heads buried in the sand and sorting their own problems out.

Ooops...got a bit carried away there! lol

Be aware there are poor people that need help, there is a lot of injustice ( such as the killing of children and women by Israel ) and we should try to solve it not back it , there is a lot of wrong policy practiced by USA against the third world ,it should be corrected etc in short we should fight for the welfare of all humanity not only the interests of the west so that it becomes richer and the third world poorer.

Well for one we would have to start treating our children like they are more important than things. Take away TV because this allows other influences into their lives that would disrupt harmony no video games and public school with out God would be out too. Or we could just keep on saying we love them as we spend more and more time doing the things that pay the bills of all the neat things they want and need but doesn't bring them happiness

A Child’s First Image of God

Ephesians 5:1-2

A child’s first image of God is his earthly father. We Christians spend a lot of time discussing ways to protect or improve our witness. We need to live our faith in front of co-workers and friends, but in the privacy of our home, we also want our family to see Jesus in us. If we show forgiveness, patience, and acceptance, then our children will expect to find those traits in the Lord.

In a similar way, negative behaviors — for example, consistent harshness, busyness, or emotional neglect — also shape a child’s view of God. I remember a young man who came to me worried about his salvation. He had received Christ as his personal Savior but wasn’t convinced that he was truly forgiven. When I opened the Scriptures to share some assurances with him, he responded, “I believe them, but I’m just not sure God’s promises apply to me.” He seemed surprised when I then asked about his relationship with his father. During our conversation, it came out that his dad had often made promises he failed to keep. Now, years later, the son lacked certainty that God would keep His word.

Being a reflection of the heavenly Father requires no special skills; the only training guide we need is the Bible. By approaching fatherhood as an area of service and ministry, all men are able to be successful dads. As with any service rendered for God, the Holy Spirit offers fathers wisdom and guidance in the raising of children.

Be attentive to the words of the heavenly Father, and someday your children will rise up and call you blessed.

Can't change the world, but you can be an open minded friend and roll model for children in order to help them understand why things are the way they are.

Have nothing to do with war.Do not consider violence as entertainment. This is a world where parents fight or argue in front of children but love behind closed doors.Do not teach them to hate.

Live life as it were a sacred gift and do what Jesus teaches, love others as you yourself want to be loved. I think that means respect others, not demand respect first. Too many adults want to think they have to be parents to everybody, you don't, just your own off-spring, and if someone offers you advice about your angels which they ain't, appologize for your children interrupting their lives to do what you should have already done which is to teach them to respect the world of adults.

The best place to start would be to stop acting like we own this world and everything in it and can do anything to it and not have consequences to deal with as a result of our arrogance.
