I would so love to go to New York one day, but I don`t think it will ever happen, but I`d like to know a little about the statue of Liberty from someone who`s been up inside of where those windows are, which I learned of, only about 20 yrs.ago, honestly! lololol.

It's not free but you can get the ferry over and walk up. There's a lot of steps - like going up the spiral staircase of a catherdral tower, but there's a great view once you get up there. You can also visit Ellis Island during your trip & see where immigrants were processed when they arrived in the US years ago.

I've been there twice in the last three years, and as far as I know it's been closed since 9/11, but I could be wrong.
But one thing I do know is that you CAN NOT miss New York. Even going to Liberty & Ellis Island are worth it even if you don't get to go inside.

Since 9/11, you can only climb up to the base (the feet) of the statue. If you go to Liberty Island, you can also swing by Ellis Island. That's an interesting place.

narrow staircases spiraling up... its been a long while since i been up there...

Admission is free but the Ferry to get there is around 11 dollars... i 4got... you're limited to walk around the island. inside the statue is strictly prohibited. to get on the pedestal you'd actually have to reserve a slot online
