He hasn't?
Where have you been hiding?
You must be in an isolated location.
But you ARE on the 'net tho.
All about perception eh!

There have been quite a few cities utterly destroyed since then, some quite recently. For political correctness purposes, I will not list any here specifically, but history records a great number. We even have mythological destructions such as 'Atlantis' and 'Troy'. As long as man has been building it, God has been tearing it down. History is full of such things. We are all the instruments of God in his 'divine plan'. Each successive wave of humanity spills out onto each other,at times, and a succession of massacres and destruction follow. If you look at the general wickedness of the destroyed places, you will find that nothing has changed. Generally, the most wicked cities are destroyed. AS far as fire and brimstone from the Lord, well, that was a particularly S&G punishment. I would point to Pompey, a real city, it was smothered by searing gas and buried in the ash of a volcano. Sort of the same, but different. I let God keep score on the wickedness part, but indications showed it was opulent, decadent, and prominent. It must have surely amazed the Romans of the times and humbled them.

Good question, when you consider Las Vegas, New York, San Francisco, New Orleans, etc. etc., you wonder how much worse could it be than what they were doing.
You can read of nations being wiped out by God allowing other nations as a tool. You can also read of famines because of a peoples paganism, blight due to disobedience, and disease due to perversity. You can also read of God allowing pagan nations to exist because of a remnant few who are faithful or because he is using that nation for a time and purpose.
All I can think that is closest is New Orleans, the voo doo capital of America, that seemed fairly judgemental, or even Indonesia that is very pagan, they just keep getting nailed.
Who knows, only God knows for sure.

it seems unlikely that god ever "wasted" any city. It is illogical that an omnipotent being would lay waste to a city. if such a being exists and has such powers. it could easily rid the world of the "sinful" directly rather than destroy the innocent along with the guilty. but then one must also take into account that sin is a relative term even within the constraints of a doctrine like the Judea-christian bible

Nothing. I have a few theories on why we dont see stuff like sodom and gomorrah based on reading the Bible. If you would like me to go into detail about it contact me, but I dont want to be one of those 16 paragraph people.

What about the riots that happen all the time? Many major cities around the world have them... after sporting events, legal procedings, perceived threat to one's well-being, etc. After what many perceive to be an injustice, there is a mob mentallity happening... and it ruins cities. Just because God himself doesn't wipe out a city, doesn't mean he doesn't have a hand in it... And if you look carefully, its USUALLY the worst area of those cities that get hit with looting and rioting. Sad thing is, those that partake in such activities are the ones that are affected the worst. They wipe out their own neighborhoods... Sometimes I think God is just waiting for us to take care of the problem for him...

~Remember the covenant of the rainbow. Never again after the flood. I guess the big guy figured two lies (Sodom and Gomorrah) were all he could get away with.

Wow!! I just have to comment on the people who answered you like you were some kind of idiot....what about New Orleans? what about 9-11? what about hurricane Katrina?
What on earth did those cities do to deserve the wrath of god?? Why didn't he take out Vegas? Are you saying god is imprecise? Or kills innocent believers for the sins of others?
Perhaps god got bored with us and moved on.

i believe the writer is referring to a complete wasting...
the reason is cuz those books were written by men with
certain ambitions, certain goals...
in other words, don't dare do or think this, or YOU WILL PAY...
but sadly, as great leaders as Jeremiah, Isiah, or Moses were,
it apparently has backfired, in that now, their descendants actually believe that they are better than others...that they are,
the chosen people...maybe the white or Jewish bearded man
on the huge white throne in the heavens decided a long time ago
that race supremacy was an OK thing...

New Orleans doesn't count. That was ...er... something called 'weather', folks. And we caused that weather ourselves by messing up the planet.
If the clouds opened up and God popped out and laid down some serious hellfire, I think that's what the question is about.
Anyway, I think it's cos he's too busy searching for free porn on the internet.

God has not "wasted any cities" lately because he is patient. But his patience will run out. I hope you're not on the earth during the Great Tribulation.
