i have had my dog for 7 years. my boyfriend has been livving with me for 3 months. I feel like I shouldn't have to choose. how do I get my boyfriend to except my dog????

A dog will always be by your side but boyfriends come and go even if it has been a long time relationship. Just stay with the cute doggy because u can get a million other puppies but no dog will ever replace the bond and friendship u and ur doggy buddy share. And that boyfriends of ur is a jerk because he should never be making u choose over him or the dog.He's not the right guy for u. Choose the dog. That will make him see that u don't need him.The next guy u meet will like you and your cute dog,I guarantee it! Good luck!

Go with the dog...and forget the boyfriend. If he's making you choose between him and the dog at 3 months what's he going to be asking for in 6 months? Besides anyone that is so insecure over a dog may have a lot more issues than you're aware of.
Betcha your bf hasn't got 1/2 the qualities of your 4 legged loyal companion.

Obviously, you're boyfriend is a jealous loser. Dump the boyfriend because once he's able to control something at this level he will only get worse. Before you know it he won't let you have friends or even worse, he'll try to keep you from seeing your family! He sounds like a control freak. Your dog would be devastated without you after 7 years and your dog never demands you make a choice such as this. Your dog loves you unconditionally and never argues with you or talks back. Boyfriends come and boyfriends go. How would you feel if you got rid of the dog and a month down the road you and this butthole boyfriend broke up? You'd be without your dog and your boyfriend. For the love of God, get rid of the boyfriend!!!

That is crazy how can he make you choose between him and your dog? What is the dog getting more attention then him or does he not like dogs? You gotta think what would you do if you had a kid and he said the same thing? I say he needs to decide if he can expect that your dog is apart of your life. I wouldn't get rid my dog. Keep in mind if you did he may come up with something else later that he wants you to choose between. I say stand your ground...he needs to realize that people pets are like family. That sucks that he is making you choose, u shouldnt have to, but if he wants to be that way, UR DOG! Ur dog is part of ur family. And why is he making u choose? if he is allergic then he should get some claritin. But if its because he doesnt like the dog, well ,u know what ?if a person ask you to choose in the first place they are selfish, he should work with u on the dog situation and try to come up with a solution for u both (if he cared about ur feelings)

Forget the guy, and Keep your dog. Your dog will always be loyal to while men are pigs. Your dog has been with you for seven years, and him only three months. If he is a jerk about the dog, then he will probably be a jerk about other things down the road. KEEP THE DOG! Dogs are the best example of unconditional love there is. Just look into the dog's eyes, and you will pick the dog over this pr!ck any day!

If your man is already asking you to pick between him and your canine companion after only 3 months, I doubt he's going to accept him. Therefore, you are going to have to make a choice (you're right, you shouldn't have to, but it's probably going to happen anyway). My advice? Choose the dog, he seems more loyal to you than your boyfriend in this situation, and seven years is a lot longer than 3 months. This doesn't mean you have to break up, but you could tell him that if your pet bothers him so much, perhaps he should live somewhere else. Good luck.

Pick the dog!!!!! Dogs will never ask you to choose between them and another person. Dogs will never downsize you! Dogs will never complain to you. Dogs will love you until the day you die. Dogs are waaaaaayyyyy easier o care for than a jerk boyfriend. Dogs to not let other people get in the way of your relationships, they just love everyone! Dogs don't eat as much as a mature man. Dogs don't use up all of your hotwater.
Bottom line is that your boyfriend shouldn't be asking for you to choose between him and your dog, he's not the right one.

Your dog never made you choose, so if I were you I would keep the dog. I couldn't live with someone that puts me in a situation like that, choosing one over the other.
Tell him that you don't HAVE TO choose, that it's just a dog and that he's been your companion. Ask him what the problem is, I really don't understand why is he making such a fuzz about it. Good luck anyway, I hope you keep the dog...

Uh, this may sound really weird, but, I think that I love my dog more than my husband and if I EVER had to chose...
A dogs love is SO unconditional, and the fact that your boyfriend of 3 months is making you choose, is just so stupid! He could learn to live with, even LOVE the dog, the dog is LOYAL to a fault, can't say the same for boyfriend!!!
My husband now loves my dog, he KNOWS better!
