I've tried personal references, the computer, want-ads, etc. I'm not that picky, just know what it is I don't want. I want someone who's employed, has good health, can take of himself, can look after himself, has a sense of self and a good sense of humor. I *think* I may have more issues now than when I was younger. Any suggestions? I'm tired of doing everything by myself, including watching TV.

We stay home because we don't where to go either. and over time you see to many games and get gun shy. You can only beat a dog so much before he hides in the corner and never comes out. Try work you never know. try asking them out they could be gun shy and won't take chances anymore. I know form personal experience.

I would try joining some clubs or doing volunteer work that interests you. You're bound to meet like-minded individuals there. At least you'll have a common starting point for a relationship, in a non-threatening environment where you can be yourself and learn about the other person prior to actually dating them.
