My thoughts are the patches but other little art done (nose art) is would be acceptable as well.

Try usmedals.com. I just got a catalog from Medals of America, and that's their website. Lots and lots of patches, medals and other insignia. In fact, I used the catalog to research the ribbons from my dad's WWII uniform. Really nice people to deal with, too. I've ordered from them in the past. Hope this helps.
