Dogs use a different calendar but they observe leap years more often than we humans do. If you've taught Fido how to read, then he'll check your calendar and he's only 16. Now the real trick is finding out if he's a time travelling dog. Then it will be impossible to tell which eras he's been to and how long he was there. Ahh, to chase cats with the original Lassie.

112.....7yrs to our one year.....7 x 16 = 112

According to my research 7 years is out first year = 15, 2 = 24. It goes all weird after that but 16 year old dog is 80 years old. Source: http://pets.webmd.com/dogs/how-to-calculate-your-dogs-age

16.

Dogs live about 1/7 the number of years of the average human. So in human years, your dog would be 112.

The first year of a dog s life equals the first 12 years of a human s life. The rest are equal to 5 years. 5 times 15 plus 12 equals 87 in human equivalence. I had a dog who lived to be 19. Smaller breeds generally live longer than large breeds.
