Yes, failure to show up will result in a warrant out for your arrest. If you talk to the jury selection committee I am positive you can get out of jury duty. Claim you will suffer financial hardship or you are the only one at work who can do your job, or just simply state you are racist (doesn't have to be true, just say you are). They will thank you for showing up and let you go home (and you probably won't ever be called for it again).

You better have a good excuse. It's not likely that you would be jailed but you could get a fine. Contact the clerk to the court and tell him why you didn't turn up and he/she will be able to help you out. But remember that the court don't like people not turning up because if everybody did it they wouldn't have any juries, so it might be best to apologise as well.

Yes you can go to jail if you fail to show up for Jury Duty. That is why they call it a duty. very few judges ever send people to jail but they can. And you could be the first in your town so go!

And my friend "Congnitively" would you like someone with your attitude on the jury if you ever had to go to trail for something.

If you are summoned and fail to appear you bet you can be fined and arrested, usually both, unless of course you have a valid medical reason for not showing up. This is the price we all pay for our right to vote, if you never want to risk being called for Jury Duty, don't register to vote, it's the voters list from which they get their names for juries.

yea, you get in trouble. Contempt of Court. Call them and tell them you reason you are not able to go. They will excuse you but probobly call you again in the future. Don't just not show up.
In fact, where I'm it's like this. Call the night before because they may not even need you to come in. This would be a recorded message. Where I'm at it's done like a lottery. Example: All people with the last name beginning H through R are required to show. That's just an example.
