4 slices of homemade bread, 1 glass of coke

2 bbq hamburgers

1 tim horton's coffee

The reason behind this slightly odd menu is that we were (key word is WERE) at the cottage and this huge thunderstorm came through last night and took out the power...it still wasn't on this morning so I couldn't make coffee....I then drove 14km (about 9 or 10 miles) to the nearest town to get a coffee..there was no power in town (the only thing they had in the coffee shop was water or pop..there wasn't a donut or bagel in sight!) nor was there any ice or batteries as everyone in the area had cleaned out the stores....so back to the cottage I went and the only thing to eat that didn't need to be heated, fried, boiled or prepared(other than chips and cookies) was the loaf of bread...and because there was no power, I couldn't get water because the pump needs hydro.....by the time noon arrived the hydro still wasn't on, so I used the last of the bbq briquets and cooked up the hamburger (cuz it was thawing the fastest in the freezer)....when we finally realized that it could be days before the electricity is restored, I packed up my thawing food and drove home.....3 hours away.

And on the way, we passed a Tim Horton's (which wasn't affected by the outage) and I'm nothing without my coffee...so I finally got one at 6 p.m. tonight.

Right now there's about 100,000 people in Northern Ontario are without power...and some of them could be out for a week....poor things.

Whew....sorry for the long winded answer (but I didn't want people to think I was a total screwball....just slightly nuts!)

a pack of pop tarts, a donut, three diet snapple iced teas, 2 packs of peanut butter crackers, a milky way, half of a tony's sausage&pepperoni pizza, and 4 chicken wings, and about half a pint of Ben&Jerry's Uncanny Cashew ice cream. Geez, now that I look at it written down, it doesn't look so good. No wonder I am a tub o'lard!
