First of all, try to find the reason the outbreak..Most common is allergy to flea bites...the second most common culprit is corn or soy in the dog food....
To relieve and promote healing, mix douche powder in white Vaseline, until it makes a paste..Apply as needed, as it is safe, and won't do harm if he licks...It contains anti-fungal and mild antibiotic ingredients, as well as soothing and healing ingredients..the 'recipe' was given to me by my vet, many years ago. It is good for many skin problems, including bug bites..This stuff really works!

You first by going to your local pharmacy and buying some powder sulfur. Ask for it, they will know what your talking about. Then get some regular Vaseline. Mix the two together. It will form a paste, that will be a pale yellow. Take and apply it directly to the hot spot. This forms a protective barrier from the Vaseline, and the sulfur serves as a antibiotic healing the spot. I guarantee this will work. I have tried it many times. And it never fails. Don't try these products they sell at pet stores, it will sit them on fire. Cause most contain alcohol. Give it a try. Hope it helps you out.

I do not know if this will help. My last dog would get a hot spot if he was bitten by a flea. So my prevention was to keep him flea free. I treated the spots by washing him with a tar soap, go to a feed store. I spot treated with a 50/50 mix of pure water and hydrogen peroxide. If he tried to chew them I would put a long sleeved t-shirt on him until they healed.
