God provided the way to avoid hell. In fact, if you go to hell, you must step over Christ's dead body to get there.

Would it be His fault if you didn't take advantage?

If you really want to know that, read the book of Matthew in a version of the Bible that you can understand best. That is, if you really want to know the answers about Jesus, God, Heaven\Hell, etc. Yahoo Answers is good, but you have to dig in there and find the answers yourself. God is loving, and He is also just. Get in there and search, the Bible is amazing...and less difficult than you might imagine, especially if you start in the New Testiment with accounts of Jesus. Keep searching, but please don't believe that God will let His commands be trampled on, and not allow us to reap the consequence of disobedience. Choices in life always have consequences, here and in eternity. But, don't take my word for it...I probably don't even articulate what I mean very well. Find out for yourself. Good question.

I don't know. I personally think it's silly.

That's why I'm a Deist, meaning I have my own idea on who and what God is.
