Why do you atheist people go around saying God doesn't exist??? if u have nothing good to say, please dont say anything. Why do you want to crush other peoples faith in God??? God is one last resort for many people, believing in God not only gives people hope (even if its false hope) but it also helps them know that some one cares for them and is there to love them no matter what. Atleast believing in God helps people have some morals. If you're athiest then don't talk about God coz you don't believe in him! and dont celebrate Christmas or sing christmas carols and dont say the pledge coz its got "under God" in it which makes u one unpatriotic son of a *****!

It doesn't take a belief in God to have morals. It only takes empathy.

Religions that teach you to obey Gods demands because he will either reward you for following them or punish you for disobeying them are not actually teaching you morality. Morality requires that you actually care about the welfare of others. Seeking personal reward and avoiding personal punishment is not the same as caring about other people.

Also, you ask why people crush the false hope of others. Why are all children eventually told that there is no Santa to bring them presents on Christmas?

Children must eventually learn that toys and presents do not magically come from the North Pole. They cost money and their parents must work hard to obtain it so that they can be happy.

Similarly, God does not work miracles. People do. But only when they stop waiting for God and take action themselves.

The Bible says Jesus cured the blind, healed the sick, and raised the dead. Wow. Amazing. Even if it is all true, modern hospitals do far more. They don't rely on divine intervention. They rely on doctors, nurses, and scientists who get up every day and work to make the world a better place.

If more people would do that instead of waiting for God to miraculously fix every little problem for them, this world WOULD be a much better place.

I don't get it, why do you think atheists are hypocrites?
Christmas isn't about god or religion anymore, its about presents and Santa. You do know that Christmas was originally a pagan holiday?
Belief in God is a false belief and some people believe that truth is more important in this day and age when we don't have to be ignorant to the world around us.
At any rate, your country doesn't have a state religion so the pledge "under God" is meaningless, its just people trying to male a ledge sound important.

Saying god doesn't exist is a positive thing. It means there isn't a guy up there running it all, there isn't someone giving people cancer and sending hurricanes to kill and destroy.
God is just a device designed to make people feel better about life by allowing ignorance.
Ignorance is bliss as they say.
But id like to know why you think atheists are hypocrites.

I learned a long time ago not to have discussions with believers about the existence of God. I never convinced them of anything, and they never convinced me of anything. I don't exactly hide my disbelief, but I don't bring it up unless asked. However, it seems that every time I am asked, the person asking wants to debate the existence of God.

Every day, I see items on the bulleting board at my work calling my co-workers to prayer meetings and such. I'm sure that if I organized a meeting for the non-believers, one of the believers would quickly remove my notice from the bulletin board.

You ask why non-believers try to shove our disbelief down Christian's throats. Seems to me that the non-believers are a repressed minority.

The existence of God does not make sense to me. If you could tell me where God came from, I would promise to seriously reconsider my disbelief. But, I believe God was created by man to relieve his fear of death. It seems to me that fear is not a good reason to believe in something that has absolutely no physical proof.

I don't argue that most religions teach morals, and that is a good thing. But, differences of religion have been the reason for many wars over the years. Yeah, the world has Charles Mansons and Jeffrey Dahmers, but to have a real, large scale atrocity, like the Spanish Inquisition or the Holocaust, you need to involve religion. Good old Christian intolerance and morals.

I would first strongly agree to you, even as an atheist, but I'm afraid you have misinterpreted Us.

1. We strongly respect your faith.

2. People say "God does not exist" to satisfy them- it is a psychological need, to be heard. Please understand.

3. We are not hypocritical, the reason why we turned into atheists is because we don't want to be hypocrites. Hello! - check the meaning of hypocrites : " Holding beliefs that one does not practice"

4. We strongly want you to stick with your religions. Because we respect your faith

5. We don't want to crush your faith! We respect you and we are trying our best not to destroy it. Most ideas in the Bible are now symbological rather taken literally to meet the need of "Realism" and be scientifically reasonable.

6. We celebrate Christmas because we still respect your faith.

7. We swear, not to God but to our names.

8. How come it is you that is judging us Atheists instead?

9. It is a matter of choice.

10. And Hey, watch the language, you can get sued for that.

Wow, you have just called me a hypocrite, for Satan's sake?

Atheists aren't only in the United States, by the way. I'm a Quebecer. I don't have such a thing as a pledge (nor do I know our anthem. Nobody in Québec cares).

I wonder how's the hypocrite here: me, denying the very existence of deities, and saying it, or you, attacking the ways in which I may lead my life. Doesn't your religious book tell you to, erm, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"?

Ahhh, isn't that so conveniently forgotten?

If God is your last resort for support and hope then your faith and your life deserves to be crushed. All that tells me is that you are to weak to survive on your own strength and pride, and rightfully are useless and really don't deserve to live and be part of the gene pool. Sorry if that's too harsh.

if a christian wants to sit around in his or her house and pray, then i have no real desire to burst their bubble. IF however that want to force public schools to teach their idiotic beliefs, or make gay marriage illegal, or try to deny teenagers of sex ed, or do any of the other harmful things that they do, then of course i'm gonna do everything in my power to crush these people's beliefs. peace of mind shouldn't have precedence over reality.

by the way, what the hell is with that part at the end of your question where you suggest that atheists not say the pledge of allegiance and then accuse them of being unpatriotic??? do you realize how little sense that makes?

If you truly believe, someone saying this is no God doesn't affect you in the least. When you pray that night , you'll send a shout for them.

FYI: One can be atheist and be a good person. Too bad Christians cannot resist placing judgment upon anyone whose thinking varies. I myself am neither. But I don't appreciate anyone, period, shoving their believe system down my throat.
