Hey Brother!Night is the best with a call box,or take a rabbit and tie his leg to a post you drive in the ground, he should squeal enough to call them in for ya.Check the law in your area, some places don't allow it(unfair advantage).Or go to gander mountain,Bass pro shop,or Cabala's, and purchase a mouth reed rabbit squeal. It really works great and as I'm sure you know, it's just plain fun.Good luck!

Night hunting can be very exciting. Anytime of night should work. Coyotes often are way less cautious at night and will charge right in. Most of the night calling we have done has been under a full moon with snow on the ground. In our open country it is amazing how far you can see without artificial light. It is not legal in South Dakota to use artificial light so we have to rely on the moon. If artificial lights are legal in your state, use a red lenses and keep it sweeping just above the ground until you see the eyes and are ready to shoot. Just before the shot, you can shine the light directly at them to confirm your target.

I have had a lot of success seeing and hunting them at day break. Your typical times for game movement, i.e. dusk and dawn will usually produce well. I have found that a good rabbit in distress call, and a coyote howl will bring them in if they are close enough to hear it at those times of day.

After regular daytimeers are asleep. I once had a sherrif tell me that if I wanted to spotlight hunt varmits, I just needed to call his office and the Game wardens office and tell them when and where so they could be informed when the calls started coming in. He did say to leave the varmits out there so they could gather them if needed. That was a few years ago but I don't think things have changed that much.

I do all my "yote" hunting at night, unless I see one when I am out for another critter.
