I have thick, sometimes wavy, brown hair. Its layered and the longest layer reaches just below my shoulders. I usually let it dry naturally and don't use gel very often. I've found that Aussie or Dove shampoo work nicely but I'm always using the wrong amount of conditioner and it takes too much water to wash out or I can't even tell that I used it.

hmm...everytime u wash ur hair which should be no more than 4 times a week but no less than 2. soon ur hair will stay permanently dtangled. i suggest using the size of a large walnut. start from bottom of hair and work ur way up. NEVER EVER PUT CONDITIONER ON SCALP. hey, it stops dandruff.

I have a conditioner by LA Looks made specifically for long dry curly wavy hair. I usually wash my hair everyother day, but use a small amount of conditioner everyday. If you only use conditioner once in a while you probably won't notice the effects of it, but in this humidity if you use your conditioner regularly you will notice a difference! When I don't use the LA Looks Curl Look conditioner, I find that any of the Suave shampoos and conditioners also work well. I particulary like the scent of the Lavender one.

Yes, you should use a conditioner everytime you wash and you should use a deep conditioner regularly too. Use a small amount of conditioner and put it in your hair, but don't towel dry your hair completely....make sure there is some water in it. Also, focus on applying the conditioner to your hair and not your scalp.

I'd say add about a quarter size amount of conditioner or maybe a little more and make sure you get your ends very good (add more if needed). I let my conditioner set for about 5 minutes. I condition everyday because I like that soft smooth feelings. Thanks for the conditioner type. I've always wondered if it worked. I may need to try it.
