You could start by taking a Berlitz course or some other beginner CD course. That will teach you about everyday conversations. I would recommend finding someone who knows German, and learning the syntax of conversation from him or her. If you don't do this, chances are your grammar usage will be off quite a bit. There's a website, called www.mylanguageexchange.com that will set you up with a native German speaker who wants to learn English. That way, you both can practice using chat rooms, and voice chat. They recommend that you have a basic understanding of German before you start, though.

I do not know approximately in an Islamic Center considering the fact that I are living in a Muslim nation, so we do not have them right here. As for in a mosque, sure you need to quilt your head and put on lengthy sleeves and pants. Only factor that may be exposed is face, palms and toes. How to greet folks while you pass within, say: Al Salam alaykom, or Salam, after which introduce your self in order that they recognise you are no longer Muslim and are fascinated about studying Islam. Your earring (a million on earlobe) does no longer need to be eliminated. All different piercings do. You can't g into the guys's component of the mosque as a lady (and vice-versa) Wish you the first-rate enjoy :)

If money is no object, then the BEST way to start is to move to Germany and enroll in a language academy there. Live in a home where they speak English to answer questions and communicate in an emergency, but ONLY speak to you in German most of the time.

Move to Germany - find a friend to talk with you in german, hang out where German folks do but by far the first one works the best in the shortest amount of time. 3-6 months you'll have it and keep it, no imersion can take years!

Learning in school is great, going to a german speaking country is even better, but if you don't have enough money, here's a great site with free online lessons:

If you could have only one tool to help you learn German, this would be it.

You can try a free download and listen to mp3 audio. You can use it forever, with no time or session limits. You'll like what you see and hear.
