I tried the grocery store dogs and didn't think they were any better than any all beef hotdog.
My favorite is the Hebrew National if I'm cooking it myself.

I suppose the outdoor air and toppings from the New York vendor makes the difference. But those ppl from New York are hotdog junkies anyways.

I went to Pink's Hotdogs in Hollywood and same thing. Just a bigger hotdog with all the fixings, nothing special I couldn't make at home for less.

I have bought them at the grocery store, and they don't even taste like hot dogs to me. Maybe at the real Nathan's restaurant they are different?

Nathans' is very good, but in my opinion the BEST is Hebrew National. Those are the best hands down! They don't use artificial colors or preservatives, a big no no in my book. And they taste sooooo good.
