I'm not African American, but I do have some knowledge about African American hair. When you start getting your natural new growth you need to be careful because right where the new growth and permed hair meet it could start breaking off. If you want to grow your hair out natural you may want to think about cutting the permed stuff off. Try to wait for enough growth so that you can cut it off and have a cute mini fro. I've seen girls do it, it looks cute and the more it grows out you can do more with it. I think natural styles are really pretty and allot more healthy. Go for it. Good luck

I use the snap on rollers not the ones with the bristles the smooth ones with my setting lotion. I have always done it that way and I keep curls even after I let the perm grow out. Jjust dont use the setting lotion when you start hot combing then will cause your hair to nap up at the roots.

Chi is a good device for any hair variety, yet as an African American you should bypass a step better in case you opt for your hair to be on the instant and conceivable, even until now you employ any straightening device; you should , each and every nighttime mould your hair via way of "wrapping it" or basically laying it down in in spite for sure you want to positioned on it in the morning, you need to use putting lotion blended with depart in conditioners, be sure you conceal your head of hair with a headscarf or something comparable. This has to grow to be a component of your nightly habitual. once you have styled your hair each and every morning be sure you employ a easy ' spray' on oil sheen for shine, it provides the visual charm of healthy hair. solid success.

With perm, do you mean a hair relaxer???? if so, In the end when the roots become a little longer, They will eventually break off, To avoid that to happen, you need to cut you hair shorther. and have a haircut every month..... every month...untill you hair is completely natural....
