Usually, all that happens is you end up with a less-intense colour as you would if you were to go to a salon. There's not really much risk, it just takes up alot of extra time and patience for such a small change.

Don't go lighter, or you could end up with something you don't want.. to go lighter it is always better to go to a salon.. at home, if you don't want to go to a salon, it is best to use a semi-permanent color..(it will darken or change the color but not go lighter).. these fade out so you don't get that line.
If you go permanent at home, when you need to recolor you should only color the hair that wasnt colored before.. this is hard.. so it should be done in a salon
Goldie.. those white things on the ends were dead ends, they need to be cut off.

my hair always turns out well. I am a cosmetologist though and I have corrected MANY of bad at home jobs and even some beauty school jobs. be safe and go to the salon. plus the box colors you buy at the store don't have the pigmentation that professional color does so they fade easily and don't look at pretty.

It kinda went ok, my hair was no better or worse then before I colored it, but I have these weird like white things on my roots, I cant see them until I pull a strand of my hair out, not sure what they are, its like my roots are clogged which is very bad.

I always colour my own hair its so much cheaper that a hairdressers and its so easy ive never had a problem .

it went well but if you have brown hair highlights will always turn to red because you need to follow up app to put toner in hair. it grows out nice too.

ooh! i have!my mom is hair dresser and i always fool around with the colors and experiment....thelast time i did it it looked incredible!!

it didnt go well
if you wanna go cheap id go to a beaty college and get your hair dyed or high lighted thats what i do!
