A couple friends of mine learned how to homebrew when they graduated (high school). It's a very easy process and once you understand the steps in fermentation, you can have a great control over what you brew. They read the "For Dummies" guide to homebrew, but there are lots of sources on the net that will help you out. After you get the initial equipment, it's a waiting game. And, believe me, you will drink this beer faster than it took to ferment.

All the beers they've made still stand out in my memory as the best. We've joked that most beers you can buy are "just alcoholic water"

It's a fun process and it's damn impressive to others ("You can MAKE beer? Are you Gandalf or something?"). Again, I'll mention the fermentation process again because my friends had a hard time making that happen at first, but once they got it they went wild!

Good luck!

You won't get everything you need at a supermarket. You have to find a homebrew supply store.

http://www.maltose.com does mail order and are very reputable.

First, i suggest that you learn how to spell. Without that ingredient, the beer making process will be difficult. "there" is, in your context, spelled, "their"
