I am a Chaplain (strictley volunteer) and I work with detained Youth. They want Christ so much!!! I need NKJ study bibles (soft cover) for them to have while detained for Church and ,if they want , to take with them when released. I am on a limited income and can't purchase them on my own...or I would. The county can't help because of religion and state (etc....). I keep asking. Can someone help??? I need at least 100 copies to get started. Thanks and God bless.

Have you tried calling Gideons International? They will give you free bibles.

Dude! First off, don't give them NKJVs. They are corrupt! Contact me and I can give you all the information you want as to why.
HERE'S THE THING: You can get a KJV for $4.95 at your local gift and bible store and they are not paperback! They have leatherlike vinyl covers! This is only $495 + tax for 100 of them. You can ask different Christians, such as ME, to buy one or more toward your youth ministry. If you will agree to the KJV, I will send you one in the mail - no kidding.

If you want paperback bibles, you can get paperback KJVs at most Dollar Stores for $1 each. This would be a good start if your funds are basically non-existent. Let me know what your thoughts are on this - I'm a single mother and I know that where God guides, God provides.. You can get the $495 + tax if you are serious. God will show you how, and if you make the decision that you are gonna get those 100 KJV bibles with the vinyl covers (nice bibles, I've bought them for people) GOD WILL PROVIDE. He's just waiting for you to become DETERMINED. Start where you are at, if it only means starting with one bible and having the kids share. You plant the seed (buy at least one bible), trust God, and you will receive the harvest of all 100 bibles, and probably more. God gives seed to the sower. The seed is the Word of God.

The county shouldn't buy Bibles for people any more than they should buy Necronomicons. Try the Gideons.

Why? That's a bad translation. I recommend a good NRSV. It's as close to the original as you can get without learning Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.

oh you parasite!!!!!! government and politics? get a job and support it yourself. Quit being a value destroyer and become a value producer instead. hurry up and brain wash the very young, while their minds are still highly impressionable! And someday, when they wake up to the facts, they wiil utterly despise you...that's right "dig deep in your pockets for the glory of my new cadalic", and don't forget the song that goes... "Oh LORD won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz..."

Try contacting the Gideons Society. They may be able to help out.

Yahoo! Answers is not the appropriate forum to ask for charitable donations, as it violates the Yahoo! Terms Of Service.

Head over to http://www.craigslist.org and post your free ad. Then, go to http://www.postaroo.com and do the same thing.

Try the Gideons --- if you are for real, which I doubt .... you don't mention asking local churches to help with your ministry --- why would you ask the County? don't make sense to me.....
