You may be an exception; we experience a great deal of rudeness from smokers. Driving in the car with the windows down, a smoker in another car lights up and BANG an asthma attack. Could this not be viewed as a physical assault? Walking down the sidewalk by a bar with outdoor seating for the smokers and BANG an asthma attack.
Unless you smoke in an area that is entirely secluded from other people, you have no idea who might be affected by your smoking.

Your rights end where others begin, and unfortunately, with smoking, if its floating across a room, then you began to violate someone else's rights. Thats a fact. Smoking areas indoors are a joke, the smoke still invades the non-smoking area, and as a non-smoker, I really hate walking into a building, whether its a business, hospital, etc and having a constant group of people huddled outside smoking and having to walk through that. I suppose the businesses involved could offer a better area to smoke, to keep it away from the front door, etc, but I think the general attitude is like that of obesity, which I suffer from. Its considered a "bad habit" so the person who suffers from it is considered "at fault" and so judged on those terms. As a long time nurse and medical student now, I can tell you, even educated people have no patience with people who smoke even when they are coming into the hospital with emphysema, etc, just like hypertension, back problems associated with obesity. The complications resulting from the habit are seen as the person's fault. Rudeness in any situation is uncalled for though.

I have asthma. Smoke really could make me stop breathing. I react to smoke even if it is 10 feet away. I think my right to live and breath is more important than someone else's right to smoke around me. I am not saying that you can't smoke... just not around me or my children.
I don't think it is a poltical at all. It should be considered common sense that I don't want to breath your smoke and die just because you choose to smoke. I think of it this way... Smokers get to choose to smoke. Non smokers around smokers are denied that choice. It is not fair.
non smoking sections in restaurants are like non peeing sections in a pool.

Nope, precisely - tell me approximately it - stressful or what??!!!! yet as laptop consumers (if that's ideal) you're by using wellbeing and protection regulations entitled to a ten minute ruin each and every hour.....yet am i able to declare that that's no longer particularly the comparable. human beings who smoke do have greater breaks - and this must be deducted from their lunch time, whilst they wander out of the construction for around 10 minutes 4 situations an afternoon properly that's a comedian tale!!!!

You have the right to smoke. I have the right not to choke to death because I am allergic to it. Your rights end when they infringe on someone else's rights.
