I take it that your bf is in the military? How old are you? I would suggest you talk to him some more about it before you tell your mother...ask him if he'll do it formally or if he's okay with you just mentioning it to your mom...

Well, first of all, does your mom like the boyfriend? how long has it been you been together... Okay to tell you the truth..This really happened to me..lol..but he did it right after Christmas, new years day actually now hes in Afghanistan and coming in Sept.and we are doing a last minute wedding..but really its what you feel is best maybe she will be happy for you.I was really scared..but since i said something rite away i feel better, and now i don't have to worry!

Girl, GET THE RING! You gotta have the ring. You could tell her that he asked you to marry him before he left, but he hasn't given you a ring yet. I think she will be excited for you, unless she doesn't like him. If that is the case, don't tell her until you get the ring......

maybe yuu should wait untill he's back. tell him to do this again at mom's house with the ring, then she and yourself will know he's serious.
