Do girls prefer it when guys shave their chest?

Question

I have a pretty hairy chest, and I've had a lot of girls tell me that girls do not like body hair on a guy. On the other hand, I've had girls tell me that when a guy shaves his chest he ends up either looking stupid or like a porn star.
What's the general opinion, girls?

I'm with the latter - they look stupid or like a porn star. However, if your chest hair is super dark and furry that can be a little much too.

Only you can decide, it's your chest but if you're going to get rid of the chest hair, don't shave. The only thing worse than a furry chest is razor stubble! Look into getting the chest waxed.

I had a b/f that shaved his chest and it was so prickly that when we were done 'being close' I had red marks and even scrapes on my chest. yuck don't do it. Guys that have hairy chests are way sexier than shaved chests! No about back hair- ewww wax it! Not all girls like bald chests, you just have to find the girl for you.

I personally don't like chest hair on a guy, or hairy legs on them but I don't know about other girls

I agree with freespirit.

I also agree with others that anyone who truly loves you won't care about your chest.

So, keep the chest hair. But if you must get rid of the chest hair, I would not go with waxing because it is PAINFUL! When I get my eyebrows done, the pros wax it a bit, and that hurts enough. Maybe you can try just trimming off as much as you can with hair trimmers.

If you DO decide to rid of your chest hair, do it for YOURSELF!

P.S., I have two bumpy scars that's up to three inches long and 1/4 wide. I feel self-conscious of them (they're both on my chest, one on top, and one in my cleavage area). But my past boyfriends who seen them don't have a problem with them, luckily. But people see the scar on my upper chest when I have on tanks or camisole shirts, one of the two scars and keep asking how they got there (I was guilty of picking at a couple of chicken pox spots when I was twelve), and I HATE when they do that! My point being, any woman who TRULY loves you won't make such a thing about your chest hair, like any guy who truly wants to be with me shouldn't make a thing about my chest flaws.

I like a smooth chest but I also like hairy. It shouldn't matter anyway. If you love someone you love them flaws and all, and just how the good lord made them. Besides stubble really sucks scrubbing on a girls chest.

no they wont prefer, instead they like hairy chests because they can become more emotional and attached with that person with hairy chest since it gives them feeling of protection and love. Only true men have hairy chest and it means they are the best males so cheer up u are one of them

I thought I didn't like it either until I met my husband. I love his hairy chest...it's part of him! I did date someone who shaved his chest, and I hated it...within days it was scratchy like a beard growing out. Ouch! Keep your hair and one day you will find someone who either will look past it, or will love it to bits. Good luck!

I depends. Some girls like guys with hair chests, some dont mind, most of the girls perfer guys to have no hair, or very little.
I think you should just keep it. A girl should know who you are, and shouldnt be surprised when she finds you barechested with a burly knot of hair sprouting out from your chest.

My fiance loves for me to shave my chest, but not below the ribcage. She loves the ''happy trail'', as she likes to call it. Let your girlfriend shave your chest for you, she'll like your bare chest much more when she is the one making it that way.
