Most dandruff isn't really dandruff. You may just need some intense moisturizing. Use a hot oil treatment (warm some olive oil or other vegetable oil, then massage it through your head and scalp, then wrap your head with a shower cap or saran wrap, and cover with a towel warm from the dryer. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then wash your hair.) Or put mayonnaise in your hair as a conditioner. It sounds weird, but it is a very effective conditioner, especially for dry hair. Try a few treatments like this and see if it doesn't take care of your "dandruff".
If you really do have the medical condition called dandruff, the best thing to do is talk to your doctor. No commercial shampoo is going to cure real dandruff.

Nizoral is a good shampoo if the flaking is caused by a fungal infection. If you have seborrhea (the oil glands go ballistic) try one of the tar shampoos. I've been alternating between Neutragena T-gel shampoo, Polytar, and DHS Tar Shampoo (which is hypoallergenic). The dermatologist said if I felt I needed a conditioner, I should use Ionil. Been using these twice a week for years. Flakes are gone, but I still itched. One of the Yahoo contributors suggested a diluted vinegar rinse. Now I wash with the tar shampoo, rinse with 3 tablespoons vinegar shaken in a large glass of water, then follow with a quick Ionil rinse. Finally got some relief.

I have had the same problem. I used Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Hair and Scalp Treatment and it works very well but I had to stop using it because I couldn't afford it. Then I used Nexxus Therappe Shampoo and Nexxus Hummectress Conditioner. They are both a bit pricy but they really work. Now I just wash my hair with the Nexxus Humectress Conditioner because shampoos, especially dandruff shampoos, are very harsh on my hair and scalp leaving them dry and giving me dandruff, and that may be what is causing your dandruff. Now my hair looks great, is healthy, and has no dandruff.

Yeah, Head and shoulders is a cheap brand it combines shampoo and conditioner together. Dandruff is really just a dry scalp so use more conditioner and use Tigi brand and Bed head those are great hair products!

Herbal essence. The less crap it has in it, the better it works.
