I will be a senior in high school next year. On top of a heavy course load with two AP classes, I'll be working on college and scholarship applications, taking organ and voice lessons (part of a scholarship), and holding down a part-time job. I'm also very involved in my church, which takes away my Wednesday evenings and sunday mornings. I'm planning on starting a choir at my brother's elementary school, so there is another afternoon that I will be busy. There are other various community services I am involved in as well.
SO, any suggestions on how I can stay on top of everything without killing myself? Any (reasonable) advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

wow!!! you do all that?? :) and i thought i was busy!!...lol
.
anyways, it's a little wonder that you get stressed, what with all your work load. i would suggest that you make a schedule of your various activities. i am sure you already have that. but let me go so far as to suggest to include also in that schedule a 'down time' time. an hour wherein you will absolutely do nothing. just sit back and relax. if you keep your current schedule up, i doubt if you'll still have energy left for college. during the one hour rest, think of happy thoughts. sounds lame, but happy thoughts take away all the stress. it doesn't have to be one hour. maybe that's too long for you. as long as you make the effort to take a breather, so to speak.

i admire you for doing the kinds of things that you do. and at such a young age, too. made me realize that not all "old" people have the monolpoly on stress :)

I can relate. I'm a single mom, (25), with a 6 year old daughter. I keep a fulltime job Monday-Friday. I have a parttime job on the weekends. I jungle my social life and a relationship (successfully might I add. And I go to college parttime. Of course I live alone which means extreme bills when ur by yourself, but I manage it. When I think stress I think positive. I try to believe that everything is for a reason but that there is a much larger plan for me. That state of mind makes you give yourself no other choice but to smile. Just think being stressed and agitated does'nt DO anything anyway, your much better when you choose other alternatives. THINK POSITIVE, , ! YOUR BLESSED MY DEAR.

reasonable advice? you're in the prime of life and it sounds like you're on top of your game. it only gets more stressful so take some sound life advice from someone who could have used it...take time to breathe. in private--on an elevator, walking to class, those normal moments from point a to point b. BREATHE. close your eyes and breathe. watch the clouds. watch the birds. in the book of Matthewi love it...the birds dont worry about who will clothe them or what they will eat, god supplies them. in the same way he will supply you. also, spill your thoughts on paper. journaling helped me immensely. dont make it "another thing to do" make it a release. dont lookl at everything as crowding up your time. look at everything as a way to make a difference, a way to invest inyourself, others and the future.
never underestimate a little yoga, either.

cut on something. Better to do your best on a few things than strugle and stress and probably do not as good in many.
And honestly, AP courses are a waste of time and a load of stress. You will see what I mean when you get to college.

Cut back on something. Whatever is the least important to you. Pray and God will reveal the answer to you. You are way to stressed and you need time for you. You need time to relax.
Don't worry about staying on top of things. You are not Wonder Woman (unless your name is Linda Carter). You can't do it all. Only God can do it all. You need time to relax. So pray about what God would have you do.

Keep a day planner and plan time to 'do nothing'. Spend that time listening to relaxing music and taking slow deep breaths. Even 10 minutes will do wonders.

Wow, you're gonna be busy! I wish I was that good of a student...and as well-rounded as you. If you can find any time to yourself, get an online journal like Livejournal or Xanga and just let your emotions out. It always makes you feel better. Good luck.
