Hello. To answer ur question u can still have a snack and fast. I have several diabetics and such in my family and some of them will just fast a half a day or maybe just a meal. To start out I was suggested to just fast like ur favorite thing u may have everyday or something like that. Just start out slow and just do as much as u can. Fasting is just about subjection. I was told if u r suffering u know ur getting somewhere lol. I Hope this helps and good luck.

Fasting requires reasonable precautions. Consult your physician first, especially if you take prescription medication or have a chronic ailment. Some persons should never fast without professional supervision.
Physical preparation makes the drastic change in your eating routine a little easier so that you can turn your full attention to the Lord in prayer.
Do not rush into your fast.
Prepare your body. Eat smaller meals before starting a fast. Avoid high-fat and sugary foods.
Eat raw fruit and vegetables for two days before starting a fast.

You should definitely not put your health at risk. I don't know if you are Muslim or Catholic or Jewish or some other religion that requires fasting, but I'm sure you could talk to your priest or whatever and get permission to do another type of fasting. Fasting doesn't have to be from food depending on the circumstances.

you may want to ask your doctor about how to fast. however, a fast doesn't always have to be about food. You could fast from watching tv, or the 'net or something that takes your focus off of God and devote the time you'd spend on whatever to Bible study and prayer.

Well, some people fast from certain foods, or watching TV, etc.
However, if you have medical conditions you should be very careful and alert your doctor. He'll give you some tips on how to do it safely.

Islamic fasting is prescribed for everyone but Allah has excused people who cannot fast due to old age, health / medical reasons and people who are in travel.
You have to give charity for the fasts that you mis please refer to www.askimam.com Q&A and www.islamicity.com Q&A for a detail explanation of what you need to give in charity.

There are different kinds of fasting.
It's not meant to be a detriment to your health.
There's lots of good stuff here:
