Hi Tess, Being 14 can be a difficult time of your life with all the changes that happen to a girl's system. I was extremely shy at your age and was very aware of my changes and thought that people were watching me too. I think that your mind may be over reacting which is very difficult for you. It's an awful feeling but you can get help. You should never feel afraid to tell your parents anything but if you are, you could just tell them that you haven't been feeling too well and that you think you should see a doctor. They don't need to be told everything and that is not lying to them. It would be the best it you could tell them though. It is your system and your system needs a little help. That's all. You are not the only one that these things happen to. There are millions of people that need help and it is the ones that don't get it that really have the problems. You will be surprised how much better you will feel when you get help.
As far as your shyness just let it go. We are all just people just like you only some people just talk toooo much. Like me!
Anyway, please get help for yourself even if you have to go by yourself. That a girl! You can do it!
Sincerely with best wishes and get better soon. Linda O.

Hi Tess,
I'm sure that everyone to some extent has experiences what you are going through. Here are ways to make things better:
You've got nothing to be afraid of. Like some of the people said above, it's all in the mind. So just take a deep breath and relax everytime you think you've seen or heard someone that doesn't exist. This should reassure you that no one is there. Trust me.

Next, I fully understand that you are afraid. However, just summon your courage--we're all behind you---and let your parents know. They will be glad to listen to you, just like us. They will help you deal with your fears.

Don't wait. Let others know now.

Eating a diet that stresses protein (poultry and fish are best, unless you are a vegetarian and then soy is very good), low glycemic carbohydrates (look up a glycemic index) and good fat (olive oil for cooking, almonds or peanuts for snacking), may ease you during this stressful time. The other answers are good. If you cannot talk to your parents, see if you can make an appointment with the school counselor.

Your body is going through a lot of hormonal changes and this may be a symptom of that. If so, you will grow out of it - but it is better if you get help. Your shyness and your current feelings may be a symptom of hyperinsulinemia. Check out the links below.

I feel you are quite okay and this is possible but it is your own family so I guess it is okay. You can set up a situation with each of them to see if they do watch when you are in front of them. I don't know how you can avoid family. You talked to us so you can talk to your friends too. If you want a change why not catch someone first. After all females have to learn that is their role in life. Males are to be useful not pretty.

Talk to your parents and get an appointment with a mental health professional ASAP. What you are describing sounds like the first stages of schizophrenia.

Hey tess it's okay. young female girls often develop an "over-consciousness" of themselves. What you should eventually realize is that of course, people aren't looking quite that closely, it's all in our heads. i've been there, believe me. i always see cats out of the corner of my eye and i'm not THAT crazy:) Just relax, enjoy yourself. you're the only one paying that close of attention to what you're doing.

Go to Mommy and Daddy and tell them you hear voices and feel like you are being watched. They will seek the help you need.

Voices are you talking.
If i stay awake till like 3.00 am
My thoughts dont stop.
Its not voices though its like a portion of my brain that thinks when i dont want to think. I dont hear it normally.
Medation works great for anything like that.

it's normal to have some fears , but i think it can lead to panic attacks and therefore you should tell at least your mother about this . why live with it if you don't have to , there is help for you.
