Any one have a recipe for "chinese marble cookies"? Our grocery store, Wegmans, makes them and they are SO good! (But cost like $8.99 a pound!)

Hmm. I definitely taste almond extract in the Wegmans version . .

MARBLE SUGAR COOKIES

3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
3 c. flour
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and beat. Add milk and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add melted chips and pour over cookie mixture, cutting it through with a knife.
Roll in balls and dip in sugar. Flatten with glass. Bake about 5-6 minutes at 350 degrees.

CHINESE MARBLE COOKIES

INGREDIENTS: 1 marble cake mix
1/2 cup cooking oil
Water
1 egg
1 cup chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350° F. Blend cake mix, oil, 3 tbsp's. water and egg. Stir in chocolate chips. Place a quarter of the dough in a small bowl. Stir in 1 tbsp. water and contents of small package. Spoon dark dough over light dough and marble. Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Cool 1 minute and remove.

MAKES: 3 dozen cookies
