Everyone keeps saying that God will not send "good" people to Hell. Well, let me ask you, is there any person out there who does not say "I'm a good person..." If people could get to Heaven by whatthey do, we wouldn't need Jesus...THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT!!!! Why are you missing it???
Some people place themselves under the Law, and so they will be judged by the Law (that means they don't accept the grace of Jesus, so they will be judged by their works alone), but let me ask for those of you who believe that you'll be judged by your works in this life, instead of by accepting Christ as your saving grace...ARE YOU REALLY THAT GOOD AND WONDERFUL that you can earn your way into Heaven??? I think not.

Wow, some people really do think they're that good! No, I don't consider myself worthy of heaven....I am a human with many faults...that's why I am so blessed and thankful that my Lord died for my sins and set me free. I accept His gift...I am not judging you--sounds like you're judging me!

Amen sister!....Ephesians 3:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:not of works, lest any man should boast....this verse clearly states that you have ta accept God's FREE and loving gift to get into heaven...that mans good deeds alone will not work...some try to make it seem so hard to get to heaven when it's not...God made a way by accepting him...ask God to come into your heart and save your soul....it's that easy and it doesn't cost a thing..I'm glad you posted this hun...love daisy

Personally, I don't care if there is a heaven or a hell (and my religion doesn't believe in either heaven or hell). I do believe in being a honest and generous person. I believe my primary responsibility is to teach my children to be honest, responsible and giving adults. I believe that I am expected to do the best with the gifts I have been given.

I believe that IF there is a judgement day I will be judged on how well I completed those tasks - being fair, honest, responsible and giving.

IF there is a heaven and a judgement day, I know I will face that having led a good life and having been a good person.

I am not perfect but I am a good person.

Accepting Jesus, or anything else, but failing in being a good person is NOT going to get anyone past a judgement day.

But in the meantime, I am living my life FREE of the fear that somehow my immortal soul is doomed. Such knowledge and belief is very freeing. My self-esteem is good and, and unlike you (judging from your question) I do not need to put down others to feel superior, because yes, I do know I am that good.

Clearly you still have doubts. Hmmm....

Do you really think a loving parent (God) would really doom and destroy most of his children?? Oh yeah, I forgot, logic escapes zealots.

Some people have never even seen a Bible but they are good and have morals. Others believe over the years that the Bible has been added to and taken away from, misinterpreted and mistranslated, but choose to do good. The Bible itself says that God put his law into our minds and hearts and we would no longer need to preach to each other to tell each other to "know" God. That came about after Jesus died for our sins and because Jesus became the only indefinite priest, these things were written within us. So yes, I do think people can get to heaven by being a 'good' person. If we choose to believe in the Bible, then we should believe that Bible when it tells us these things.

Good works does not take you to Heaven. You must be Born Again(saved by the Grace of God through Faith. When we get saved, we should do many good works for the Lord. We should tell others how much Jesus Loves them, and how to be saved. Jesus died for us, and was buried, and Rose again on the third day. Praise God! Money, or good works will not get you too Heaven.

What are you asking? What are you assuming? You are assuming there is a heaven.
I believe there is a heaven, but only because I like to believe in imaginary places.
Your question is silly cause you're taking it all a little too seriously. There's a thin line between seriousness and silliness.
Just accept that the whole business is imaginary, and believe anything you want about heaven and salvation.
Belief is good, but so is the suspension of belief. You can learn when to believe and when to suspend your belief -- just like when you go to the movies. You don't sit there the whole time saying "This is just a movie and these people are just acting."
No, you sit and enjoy it and let yourself imagine that the plot is real.
Likewise, I sit and enjoy people's religion and pretend that heaven actually exists. It's fun, and helps me get along with them.

When was the last time you died and went to "heaven" and then came back to tell everyone just what it was like?
You don't know the answer to the BIG question so don't assume that you can tell us who don't choose to believe in the religious crap just where we are going when we die.
And by the way, since you are a christian believer, what happened to "judge not lest ye be judged".
Or is that just another one of those passages that you Christians only use when it suits your purpose?
And yes I am a good person, and my grandchildren think I am wonderful. I think they are pretty wonderful also.

So sayeth your beliefs. I am glad that you embrace them.

I am not missing the point. Been there - done that - moved on.

So how 'bout we let God sort it out?

And do CAPS really make your point any more valid?

And is this how you were taught to convert people?
