She is almost two years old, and we have never had a problem with her missing her litter before. Wondering if there are other signs we should be looking for.

Frequent trip to litter box. Staying in litter box. Also passing blood would be a good indication.

Not using the litterbox is one of the first and probably most definitive clue that an infection is the problem.

Take her for a vet evaluation. You do not want her to start urinating elsewhere in your house.

If they pee somewhere you can see, there might be a little blood in it. It's fairly easy to fix - just remove the crystalization and some antibiotics.

Stop feeding your cat cheap food - that's how they get it. Spend a little more on good food and save on vet bills.

Cats can have different symptoms - difficulty peeing, passing blood when they pee, peeing in unusual places, and sometimes even screaming in pain. This can happen with an infection and with the crystals that male cats can get.

If she goes in the litter, it'll take a long time before she pees.

there may be blood in the urine, it may look milky, and she may be very vocal when she is trying to urinate. take her to the vet for a urinalysis.
