should such a person forgo unnessasary things (i-pods,television ect.) and instead use those resources to help God's less fortunate creations? Do you know anybody that does this? Does the moron Billy Graham need $2000 suits? Does Jimmy Swaggart need money for hookers? Should you walk the talk?

I do not have many "Unnecessary things, we have one TV, one computer, we do not drive a car, we walk. I send what money I can to various charities and to my local ones as well. I donate my time where I can but my children and my job in nursing take up most of it. The pay is lousy but the rewards are great. I home school my kids and take no government hand outs. I wouldn't spend $50.00 on an outfit, I prefer Thrift stores and I am learning to sew. I do have to live in this world so some things worldly are necessary. What more would you have me do? We are not all called to do the same things, some are called to go and serve and some to stay at home and pray. Each has their parts as Mary and Martha.

That's a good question. Jesus lived a very simple life. I think to do his work now he would need a little more of the technology and whatnot, just to cater to the audience, but I think he would still keep it pretty meager. I wonder that a lot for rich people, like Bono who does all this work for the poor, but still owns some nice a$s houses. But he worked hard for his money and I think he should get to keep some of it, even if he does want to help the poor. It would be a little different for Jesus, though. As such a religious person, I don't think he would need such material things. For "real Christian followers of Christ", I don't think they are expected to be any less human than the next guy - life is just as much about ourselves as it is about everyone else. However, I do think they would be expected to give back what they could. If you are truly that into God, why would you need those things? I guess I'm saying it's okay to have somethings just for your own personal pleasure (you do work hard for the money and God wants you to experience this life), but as a follower of the teachings of Jesus, you should be trying to help and contribute more to others than to yourself, in general.

Accepting The Lord Jesus Christ is very important. It is not a bunch of doodoo. Jesus Christ is real. He loves you more than anyone loves you. In the Bible Jesus tells us He loves us and that He died for us and that He rose again for us and is alive in heaven. I can not follow Christ because I can not heal or raise the dead as He did. But He did tell me to be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving. I can only do that with His help. Jesus will let you know what is right and wrong. You will know in your heart!

God lets rain fall on both the just and the unjust. Who is to say that the things Christians are given will not be used by God. Am I saying we need to all be materialistic. NO. Instead, I feel that we should use what is given to us the way God chooses. For example, I use the computer to reach out to others and encourage. In the past I have used it to create lessons that were used for my students. I will again in the future.

I believe a true christain can be seen by their fruits. If they do good works and show love to their neighbor then they are living by the spirit of God. If they consistently do bad works then they aren't truly following Jesus.

Should should should. Of course each Christian "should" follow Jesus' teaching perfectly, but not one of us has ever succeeded in doing so, just as He foresaw. That's why we need forgiveness--His and each other's!
