Well if you do play it, you begin to develope an appreciation for ti. I hated it when I was growing up, my dad, oves watching it,but Ive been playing now for the last six years and it grows on you.. I know a lot of people who hate watching football, mostly because they dont know the rules, once you understand what a bridie is or what a wedge is, or a bunker, you begin to understand. Once you understand the scoring aspect and how it works, you begin to see the challenge in golf and you begin to appreiate the skill.
Thata why we watch it.....

That's what makes us all different. You enjoy golf, but there are many other better things to do. I would rather play golf than just about anything else. We all have different passions. Not that I don't thoroughly enjoy the other sports you mentioned, but I also have a passion for golf. I too realize how difficult the game is, and I enjoy watching the best in the world play it. I truly marvel at some of the shots they make. And I must not be the only one. It's on almost every weekend and the have a channel devoted to it. If people didn't watch, they wouldn't broadcast it.

golf has a huge following even before tiger, sure some sports such as football and basketball rule American television but internationally it does not stack up. I think that is because Americans have more of a blue collar crowd who like contact, speed and SLAM DUNKS. Competition under extream difficulty draws me to watch golf over other sports, the game has more than just feel it takes a clear head, cool nerves and creativity that no other sport matches. for most unenlightened people it takes them many years of playing the game to understand and appreciate how the game is played. Now days with the gangsters and dope heads playing at the highest level i think that golf is one of the only sports that has true heroes with an honor and integrity about them that not only kids but people of all ages can look up to.

Golf is considered the sport of the "Upper Crust"........ And people like to show off by attending a Golf Game that they are pretty much "In"........ Most Golf Games are social gatherings comprising of Whos Who of the society.... People get a chance to be with the rich ad the famous and then brag to others that they are a "part of the crowd".........
And apart from that many people watch it because they play the game themselves and hope to catch a trick or 2 from the pros by watching them play..... Otherwise there is no use watching a Golf Game.

some of the shots are amazing to watch, and how players can pull them off compared to a mere duffers actual chance at it.
