I am getting a new Wesite puppy but have a dilemna. I live in an apartment with a small balcony and work a normal 40 hour/week job. I've heard about people training their dog to use a liter box but I've always taken my dogs outside since I've always had big dos. I'm just afraid that the dog will not be able to hold it through a normal work day (at first I will have someone come at lunch to take it out). So I'm torn, do I train it to use puddle pads, liter box, or teach it to take it outside when they have to go? Or any other great ideas? I need advice... quick!

Training a dog to use a litter box is tough. My dog likes the litter box, but for other reasons I won't mention here (yes - gross). I used puppy pads and a small confined area to paper train my dog. I put a baby gate up in the laundry room (which has a vinyl floor for easy clean up) and left my dog in there until she learned to use the puppy pads (and/or newspaper). I, of course, took her out to play periodically. She learned to use the paper on days that I worked late and it was easy to clean up. I also took her outside a lot as a pup, so she learned to go outside too.

I had this same dilemma with my Yorkie. But crate training has always been the best way. My dog goes outside and yes you will need to come home for lunch for a few weeks. Then once your puppy can hold it then you're set.

Teacup puppies are the sickly domestic dogs of the muddle. Irresponsible breeders take competencies of them and promote them as a "teacup puppy", charging a ludicrous cost for them. These puppies don't seem to be vulnerable and commonly don't are living so long as their healthful littermates. If you continue to wish a Pomeranian, investigate out the Pomeranian Club of America (assuming you are living within the States) and discover a well, exceptional, healthful dog.

It is simple. You need to crate train your puppy from day one. It may sound cruel, but dogs do not like to use the restroom in their "space." The younger you begin to crate train, the more well mannered he/she will be. It takes time and patience, but you can also use doggy diapers/pads. Anytime doggie uses the restroom on the floor, put a mat in that spot. Continue to move it closer to the back/front door. Eventually he/she will go to the door and sit/bark/scratch to go out.

The smaller the space you keep he/she in, the less likely you are to have "hidden" messes. Good luck!!

I been a dog breeder and trainer for 12 years . 1. You wanna crate train the puppy.2. You wanna get them scented Lassie pads.3. Keep the dog in a area where if they soil the floor you'll be able to clean preferably the kitchen. Any more help please email me at minniemouse@cybrzn.com Good Luck!

I would litterbox. I have a 6lb Chihuahua and I trained her to go in a box. We use cat litter that I can scoop. It's call the worlds best cat litter. It's all natural. We crated her until she had to go then held her in the box until she went then we threw a "puppy party" (got happy and excited) and gaver her a treat. In just a few weeks she was pretty good about going in the box.

dont train with pads and things or you will always have to use those, to start with when your home take the puppy out every 15 to 30 min, and when your not home keep it in a kennal. put a bell or somethin on the door you use to take the dog out, and everytime you take the dog out, ring the bell, he will learn that the sound of the bell means he needs to go to the bathroom and should soon learn to ring the bell when he needs to go out

1)Leave the door open a crack leading to the balcony and teach him to crap over the sides
2)Quit working and put the dog to work ,
3)Tear out a corner section of carpet and teach him only to pee and Crap there
4) Pay the lazy bum across the hallway to take him out 2wice a day

I WOULD DO LITTER BOX OR PADS ESPECIALY IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE GONE ALL DAY, EVEN IF THE DOG COULD HOLD IT ALL DAY IT'S NOT FAIR TO THE DOG TO HAVE TO HOLD IT THAT LONG. AND SURE ISNT GOOD FOR THEIR BLADDER.
