I agree with you......they just go by different names......and I think God is merciful torwards the ignorant (meaning those who never even had the chance to know him) and as long as you are a good person you will go to heaven.

My God and their god are not one in the same. If you want to go along in your life believing that it is your choice. No one even God is going make you believe in him. That is the true beauty of it all you don't have to believe or love him. He will not make you. It is your choice. But just like everything else in life there is a right choice and a wrong choice. If you think I am a fanatic when I say this go right ahead. It will be an honor. I believe what the Bible say when it states. "Jesus said unto them. I am the way, the truth. and the life. No one comes unto the Father but by me."(John 14:6)
Man its cool knowing where I will go when I die. I don't loose any sleep at night wondering. How about you? Jesus loves everyone and anyone can accept him. He does not care what race you are, where you live, or what you have done. He will give you peace that you can not understand, and peace that all the religions of the world can not. Yes I do believe that only those who are saved will go to heaven. And I believe that those who reject him will go to hell. But as long as you are alive you have a choice.

Even in Christianity, it says the "believers" will be sent to heaven and the "disbelievers" will be punished. Every religion shuns the rest of the religions. I am Muslim and we're taught that everyone who believes in God (and we all really do have the same God, except for possibly Hindu's who have several Gods or Budhists) and does right in their life will go to heaven. We even believe that those who are not believers CAN also go to heaven depending on what they've done. The greatest deed is helping others and the greatest punishment will be for harming humanity.
Theres an incident thats often cited to prove that not all disbelievers or "wrong-doers" will go to hell. It was about a prostitute who used to use all of her earnings to help stray cats and dogs and make shelters for them and she will go to heaven on judgement day. So its not really about 'Christians' holding the keys to the heavens and the rest of the honest population who go to mosques and temples and sinagoges will be damned in hell for all eternity.
Whosoever believes in God and abstains from doing knowingly wrong and evil things will have a chance at going to heaven. At the end, no one can really know, we can't judge anyone or anything. But I like to believe that no matter what the religion, believing in God is the greatest step towards heaven.

Christians don't believe that they are the only ones who will go to heaven. We believe that anyone who lives a good life will go to heaven. I personally believe that we all basically have the same religion other than certain details. The basic goal of all religions is to live a good life, and be rewarded by God in the end.

What Christians have you been listening to? I was raised Catholic, the 'mother' of all Christian churches. I was taught that all good people would go to heaven, whether or not they believed in Christ. They teach that those who don't believe in Christ are merely misinformed, not guilty. It would seem that the cult many are listening to has distorted the bible, as well as many other things. Perhaps they should look around for another church, for their's seem to have a lot of bull attached to it. This is so common with cult churches...their's is the only way...when actually, it is the only way the ministers can hang onto the money their followings give them to eat on. I am quite sure there is a special place in hell for ministers like this, but mine is not to judge...that doesn't mean I cannot laugh at them. Good luck

""If christians are the only people that will be saved and sent to heaven?"" Yes indeed that is true. (if you remove the If.) READ ON=
If people have never had the opportunity to become Christians then they are Heaven bound.
Infants an people who are not capable of making the decision are also Heaven bound.
""Don't tell me that they won't be able to go to heaven too.""
OK then I wont tell you that.

They are not the same. The Gods of other religions maybe of the same historical background (i.e. Judaism, Islam, Christianity) but ultimately, the people who worship other gods haven't come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, trusting Him as Lord and Savior. Even though Muslims may believe in the same God as we do, they have rejected his plan for salvation.

Since it's all a load of bull, it doesn't really matter, does it?
Did you know that some muslims believe that JC will be reborn to save the world...as a muslim. Then all the christians will have no choice but to convert to islam and all the new & old muslims will band together to kill all the jews. I bet that would put a knot in your shorts.
Religion is for suckers.

I am sorry, but you do not understand the Scriptures. There is only one God, in three persons. The gods of other beliefs offer no solution to the sin problem, offer no way of salvation that is viable. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6) You must decide if He was lying, a lunatic or as He claimed to be, Lord. Your eternal destiny will ride on that decision.

Tell em anne. These guys think that there is more than one God because that is the only way that their God can be the best.
If you are seeing this clearly on your own you are probably ready for a graduate course in reality and human relations.
I suggest that you get a book called the course in miracles. It somewhat exhaustively explains many of the ideas you are talking about in great detail.
It’s well worth the effort.
Love and blessings

We could all be talking about the same guy as far as God, but calling him by different names as far as I know. God will figure that one out, however God was very SPECIFIC in the New Testiment that there will be many opportunities for people of all religions to get on board about Jesus Christ., but in the end, whoever does not believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and our Lord & Savior will not be saved, will not go to heaven, and will perish. Regardless of the name people call God, regardless of all the "good deeds" people perform on earth, etc. The thing that is MOST important to God is our belief in Jesus Christ, not simply as a "prophet", but as his son and our Savior. You can read it in John 3:16. Now, if you're talking about people who have never even heard the name Jesus Christ, or people living outside of civilization, then yes...God will give leniency to those people. How can they know what they don't know...ya know? :)
