Warm up a bit and stretch those muscles before playing the game. And then stretch again when you are finished. It'll get you limber and help you not feel so stiff when you are done. If you can, try to do some activities this weekend and stretch before and after.

Stay hydrated, warm up and stretch thouroughly before the game. Start some stretching now, and continue for the next couple of days. Don't over do, you don't want to be sore for the game. Just get limber!

Streth, warm up, and cool down are the best ways to prevent muscle strain.

Make sure you do stretches before you start! eat spaghetti the night before (carbs!).. drink lots of water... stretch after you're done working out. Oh, when you are cooling down, do not sit down... you can hurt yourself that way.

Yep! you answered it yourself, you are not in shape. You are using your legs a lot, so I suggest strengthening your legs, and before you play, do some stretches and warm up!

Don't exercise strenuously. Warm up before exercise if you must exercise strenuously. Eat a good diet and get plenty of rest.
