Ok, here's the story:
My father passed away when I was 14 (I'm now 17).....my granny (my dad's mom) has sort of like a memorial thing to him in her house, with pictures of him and things that were his and there is a light at the bottom of it. Now, she had been praying for some sort of sign from God telling her that he made it and she finally got one.....the light at the bottom came on by itself 3 times over the spread of 4 weeks or maybe 5. She was so happy, until she saw a preacher on tv. According to her the preacher said "what you think is a sign from God is really a sign from the devil"........my question is, why would the devil give you a sign that made you feel better? I think that preacher didn't know what he was talking about, God gives signs also. What do you think?

Ok, here's what happened...the first time it did it she didn't think nothing of it...the next time she did it she started thinking that it might be a sign, but she wanted to be sure. She first thought that the washing machine could be turning it on because the light comes on by touch, so she watched the light while the washing machine washed, it didn't come on. She did everything she could to see if it was something making it, but it wasn't.........

I don't believe in 'god' or 'satan --- and no, I'm not wearing the label 'atheist'. . .
I believe that we sometimes have a connection with some others who have gone away from this reality . . . we are unable to comprehend where or what this is, as of yet, and perhaps we shall never know, until we die and leave here, also.
I believe that this may be the source of your relative's 'event'.

I disagree with the TV preacher's statement entirely.

The preacher is a self serving weasel who is only trying to deceive people away from the true path to follow him and send him money. In that sense, he resembles the traditional view of Satan as the Deceiver or the Adversary.

But that puts me in the sanctimonious category also, so I will try to be more clear. Hey, we're all flawed, even me. Perhaps the TV preacher was simply ignorant rather than evil.

God does send signs. Satan also sends signs to test the people.

You have to evaluate the sign in and of itself, and apply reason to determine the source.

It is also possible your dad's spirit is still earthbound, and remains so to comfort your family. He is sacrificing much to do so. Earthbound spirits are primarily energy, and that may have been the only avenue available to him to communicate with your mother.

He could also pass back and forth from the heavenly plane and back to earth, but his earth time is limited, and his place is best in Heaven. This is a very difficult operation, and few can freely traverse those dimensions. God sometimes allows this to bring comfort to the afflicted.

He has made it. Your immediate family might have a little celebration to recognize this. I think I would make your granny quite happy. It is hard for a parent to lose a child. Be careful of making others jealous, simply because they didn't receive similar signs..

Best wishes to you,

Ok, if you believe in signs and things, and God, well I would disregard what the preacher was saying. A small thing made yor granny so happy, whether it was a sign, or just a power fluctuation, she read something into it that answered her questions. If anything, I doubt 'Satan' would be sending signs, from what I've heard that's God's department. Satan is the one sending the preacher's message to your granny to give her doubts.

If it makes her happy to read it as a sign from God that your father has made it, then she should perceive it as just that. It will help her with her mourning and her future happiness to know that he is happy wherever he is.

As for that preacher, they've gotta have new stories to tell otherwise they wouldn't get any attention, just ignore it.

it sounds to me like the tv preacher was not talking about your granny's situation at all. we are all vulnerable at times like this, and I think she took it the wrong way. I think she should take this as a sign from God. I think the tv preacher was referring to receiving something tangible of value as a sign from the devil because that can make someone greedy and that's what the devil wants. The devil would have nothing to gain by showing a sign that your father is in heaven, which I'm sure he is. Believe!

First I'm sorry about your loss. i know what its like to lose a close member of your family 19 yrs ago my sister died and i still haven't gotten over it and probably will never completely get over it. I'm not a religious person and the jury, for me, is still out on the existence of God. So i can't tell you what is and isn't a sign from God but if your grandmother truly believes this is then there is no person on this planet that can tell your grandmother what she believes is wrong. And if anyone does they are wrong. My thoughts on this T.V. preacher guy is. First, he's full of sh!t and second he is more focused on trying to scare people into believing his interpretations of the Bible instead of helping people come to there own conclusions. But to answer your question I don't think the devil would do anything to make anyones life any easier from my understanding thats not what he does. I see him as more of tempter kinda like the snake in the garden of Eden tempting Eve to take the apple. So if your grandmother believes this is a sign from God and it bring her happiness then by all means it is. Don't let anyone take that from her. One more thing... What do you think it is?

This question is a question to think about. Satan rules the Earth but God and his Angels rule the Heavens. Your granny was praying and believing in God to show her a sign.

This could possibly be a sign from God to your granny..............
The Devil could care less. Tell granny to not believe everything that preachers say..... they can make errors also.

TV preacher? Please...
Let her believe it was a sign from God. There's no point in not believing that. She doesn't need to think some guy on TV knows what God is doing or not doing. God has heard her faithful prayer for over three years. Is there scripture for everything God does? No. Does God have compassion beyond anyone's understanding? You bet. Tell her everyone said it was definitely God.

I think you may only be remembering a part of the preacher's message. There is a passage in the Bible that warns us about Satan appearing like an angel, and pretending to be Good. For sure, Satan can put things in the road to block us, but as long as your nana is a true believer, and she prays, then trust in God to guide her justly. Satan has no power over a believer.

The preacher has no clue as to what is from god or Satan. it was a good act since it made your granny happy.so it is not a sign from Satan.Just remember that God moves in mysterious ways

Have you checked for faulty wiring, lose plug, lose bulb, damaged switch or wall outlet? Maybe there was a power surge or a quick outage. There are too many possibilities. Preachers go by the Bible, which is a man-made book, authored by various individuals of questionable origins. Satan is a creation of man. Relax and go on with your life. Nobody knows anything about God or anything about spiritual things.

There is no devil/satan. This is a made up entity. This preacher is full of crap! You can believe that if your granny feels she had a sign, then let her be happy and believe it is a sign from God.
