What kind of dog and how big a ball?
A Labrador can safely pass a superball, but will have a hard time with anything bigger.
Chances are if it got swallowed, it can pass through.
Watch for vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, pain in the belly, bloating. Any of these thing occure before you see the ball come out the back of her, go to a vet immediately. Don't wait, it is an emergency at that point.
Or you can go to a vet now to be safe.

I had to pay $84 dollars to have the vet induce vomiting to my dog because he decided to eat a grease covered brillo pad. Because it was steel and could rust. I couldn't let it pass, risking cutting him in his intestines and etc.
So with that being said, If the ball is a lot bigger than the dogs rectum... I would definatly see a vet.
Or (I believe its hydro peroxide) to make the dog throw it up himself.

exactly how big is the ball? If it is not tiny it could get lodged in her intestine and cause a blockage. If this happens you may end up having to take her to the vet for some major surgery.

I would wait for a day or so to see if it passes. If not, off to the vet...

Oh well! Many of our dogs have eaten plastic balls, toys or anything they can get their paws on, we just let it pass. Years ago when I was about 2, our dog used to eat my dummys! But years later when I was about 5, she threw them up on holiday in Wales......weird!?!
