Its normal for some people to be nervous in new situations. With time you may gain enough confidence to enjoy the new challenges. Just see them as adventures and you are the conquering hero! Have fun. When you try to be too serious things get complicated. Lighten up and enjoy yourself. Relax.

Well I wouldn't say it is abnormal but it would probably be better to get to the root of the problem. I think everyone feels like this once in awhile or has experienced it. Just take a deep breathe and be yourself and don't feel like you have to act or be a certain way. Maybe it'll go away, if you don't put so much pressure on yourself to impress.

Yes it is normal- It is also a sign of insecurity. If you want to make sure you make a good impression on the people you meet, also ask them a lot of questions about themselves. People love to talk about themselves. When you leave them all they will remember is that they enjoyed talking to you- even if they did all the talking. Sometimes when I'm nervous about meeting my husband's work people, I will think of things to ask them about themselves before i see them.

Yes. It's the thought of trying to make a good first impression that makes a person nervous.

Only if I really like her. Otherwise who gives a hoot? One either gets to like them or not. Either way makes little difference.
Try not to care so much, THAT'S what makes you nervous (and will make a worse impression than if you just walk in and not give a damn).

Yes, I think so a little bit. However, if it becomes over bearing there is something called social anxiety disorder. You may want to seek a professional if you think you have that. Good Luck...

I think to a point. I know I usually am. More so 10yrs ago than now. But I certainly have my share of social anxieties.
