Just go to a professional salon and tell them you want a "Telly Savalas"

Jees...Use your imagination, already!

I have been shaving my "down there" for years now. I shave the whole thing except for a little "landing strip" on the front.
My best tips: When first starting out, trim your curly locks as short as possible before getting in the shower.
shave "with" the grain. You will have less irritation.
Shave everyday (or as often as your legs) for a week or two to get your body used to it.
Once you are used to it, you can start to shave against the grain for that baby smoothness.
I don't get bumps anymore, because I shave often and use a new razor most of the time, dull razors make razor burn. If you have any skin that isn't taut, pick a position that makes it taut, or hold your skin taut. Don't push the razor down into your skin hard, and don't "hack" at it. Try using a smooth, slow motion.
To keep it from bumping later, apply a soothing oil-based treatment (after-wax treatments work well) NOT LOTION, lotion contains alcohol (yikes!)
I don't use shave cream either, it irritates me. I use Neutrogena Bath oil. Again, products with alcohol are irritating.
Since you already got the red bumps, give your body a week to 10 days to heal...you won't want to shave now. And, while it's healing, you will ITCH like crazy. Sorry. that's miserable. If it gets too bad, use dermoplast or other soothing topical treatment.

Hope this helps. (by the way, bald means more sensation "down there" so this isn't just for looks.)
HAVE FUN!

Apply HOT not scalding water on a towel to the area for a few minutes before you even start

Use a Brand New never before used Razor preferably with 4 or 5 blades (using a bic isn't a good idea)

Apply Gel to foam shaving cream Use DOWN not up strokes ONLY

Start to shave using downward strokes ONLY.

Apply the Hot compress several times during the process and add more shaving cream if needed.

When done shaving use hot water to open the pores and wipe DOWN only, then use COLD water and wipe down only.

This will open and wipe out any left over shaving cream and the cold will close the pores.

There is a cream by brand "Bikini Zone' for use after shaving. It will prevent the little red bumps.

Again, when applying it use only DOWNWARD strokes to keep it from getting in and irritation (aka the red bumps) your pores.

For the first 2 days try to wear underwear with no elastic in the legs, such as boy cut panties

HI!
I AM GOING TO GET LOST DOWN HERE, LOADS OF ANSWERS!

Well lets see:
I use SOAP! I always have used soap to shave all my parts, but my skin has no problems with it - I know people that can't. Some times I will use Hair conditioner for a softer feel on the skin after-wards.

I use a mens razor on all parts (girls razors are usually either not as good or cost more because they are PINK). I get the newest one on the market as long as it has a good feature added - INTUITION is AWESOME!!!! Wicked close shave :) And I toss the blade when the little moisturizer strip is gone (I don't use a fresh blade every time - who could AFFORD that??)

I tried nair on my legs once and got such a bad chemical type burn that I never tried it down there and won't use it again - OUCH, my doctor actually put me on steroids to get rid of that.

Direction - well, just like my legs - my hair there grows in all sorts of funky directions!! Pain in the BUTT, but I shave up first (feel for smoothness), shave down (again feel), then shave side to side and that usually does it (but sometimes I do have to shave at an angle too to get it REALLY smooth), but then I run the razor over the area again going up only. PS down usually does nothing for me.

Razor bumps:
Get them on occasion, my gyno told me to put hydrocortosone cream (just the over the counter generic anti-itch stuff) on the area after and that seems to do the trick, but since I've been back to shaving that area for a while now (stopped when I was pregnant) the bumps are almost non-existent!

First of all use a good razor, I use a Mach 3 for men since the hair down there is more coarse. Shave at the end of your bath or shower so that the hair is softer. Use a hair conditioner as a shave cream and then shave. You may want to shave in the direction of the hair growth if you continue to have irritation or bumps. You do NOT need to shave everyday to keep razor bumps away cause this can make them worse. Some people shave less to prevent this, some people shave more. It depends on your hair and skin.

Wax hurts like HELL, and nair irritates the skin. Use shaving cream and with the direction of the hair growth that way you won't get bumps. As to why you were bleeding? Don't know. I never have. Use a good razor maybe a venus. And dont use soap.

Ok, make sure ur rasor is sharp not blunt (thats probabaly while ur bleeding)... secondly, do not use soap!!! No way! Big no no!Use shaving cream, opt for a shaving gel actually, that has moistursing elements in it, like aloe vera or honey and soy, and use that... and shave downwards. Upwards will get it closer but will irritate the skin, do it twice over to get a really smooth shave! Hope this helps babe...

I don't know if Nair would be a good product to use, just because it strongly suggests to not use it on any private area. But, shaving cream would be a good alternative to soap. I used shaving cream and it worked well. No bumps for me :-). Sometimes you can get bumps anywhere you shave. It's not biggie most of the time, unless it takes over lol. Hope this works!

Shaving will do that...sucks. Use a cream like Nair...it wont grow back for about 4 days to a week. But only use it on the top....no where below or around your you know what. For that area I would recommend waxing a few times so that the hair lessens & you can shave around there without gross bumps & bleeding. Waxing hurts but its worth it when you start growning less hair & it starts thinning out also!

Ouch!! I feel for you!!! Remeber to shave with the hair in that area, Never use soap - if you want to continue to shave use mild shave cream. Personally I prefer nair. It comes in different varities - get the one for your bikini area -it comes with a little plastic thingy for removing the hair and lotion to apply afterwards. All you do is put the nair on for like 8 mins and then remove it - the cream dissolves the hair just below the skin for quick and easy removal. You will not believe how smooth it will be!! Good Luck!!

Use skintimate shaving cream, for sensitive skin, and use the Schick Quatro razor blades, it works wonders! That is how I shave, never have had a problem, OH! and don't shave with soap! EW! Major skin irritation...good luck! Trust me, I know what I am saying, I learned the tough way too.
