Walk up to him, happy and smiling, and say this:
"Hey (name), can we talk for a minute? (Go somewhere to talk) Ok, so here's the thing. I like you. A lot. I was hoping you felt the same way about me; and I wanted to know if you wanted to go out with me (specify a date if you can)."

he knows that u like him, so ignore him for a few days and see how he reacts to that. Safe way and funny way if hes crazy about you not drooling over him, lol
