When you are able to support yourself and a child. Most importantly, you need to make sure your body is mature enough to have sexual intercourse. Check with your doctor on your next regular check up. If you don't get yearly check-ups schedule one now, especially if you are 18 years or older and most definitely see your doctor for a check-up if you are younger. Make sure you use protection, the main reason is due to all the sexual transmitted diseases that are out there. I would also make sure this is the person you at least think you want to spend the rest of your life with.

when they are mature enough to do so. 18 is an ok age, there are some very mature 18 year old, ideally though people should wait until they are married before commiting to sex, it is not the be all and end all of everything

I was 15. I wouldn't suggest this, wait until you're in a mature relationship with someone you really do love and trust. Don't listen to these people who say to wait until marriage. Wait until you're ready to. These people have no right to force their beliefs on you if they are not yours, which i assume they aren't because you're asking this question. Again, when you're emotionally ready, then thats a good time. Always make sure that you're safe, hiv and herpes aren't all that fun

I don't think there is any specific age, it's more a matter of maturity and relationship that a person is in. Still, I don't think anyone under 16 really has the maturity to be intimate at that level.

Bodies are ready at puberty. That is too young to handle the complex matter of emotional intimacy surrounding intercourse. Our brains are not fully mature so that we can have full use of them in our judgment until our early 20's. Such timing is not popular in the media culture that we live in now.

Well idealy when you are married and in love. But if you really don't want to wait, at least until it is legal for you to do so! At 18. And if you are not mature enough even at 18 you should wait until you are.

To have intelligient, no regrets, sex...a person should be at least in their twenties. I don't know one person, including myself, that looks back at the beginning of their sex lives and says, "Woohoo! That was an intelligient decision! There was just something SO romantic about doing it in his mom's bed!"

You shouldn't have sex until you are in love an married. It says so in the Bible. If people followed that rule, then maybe people wouldn't be so emotionally f***ed up!
