And I'm not talking about the fake Muslim faith that Osama and al-qaeda preaches, I'm talking about the real one; the one where normal people worship.

I don't usually send my questions to vote, but there are too many conflicting sides to this to decide a best answer. To the Best Answerer, congrats, I guess...

Muslims do not accept homosexuality. It is similar to the Bible and Torah's stance. there is mention of Lot in the Quran, and how the people in Lot's town were homosexual, and he tried to get them to stop this sin, but they chose not to, so God sent down fire and brimstone upon them as punishment and a warning for others.

There is no tolerance for it in Islam. Infact, even anal sex between men and women is forbidden.

SURA XI: 77-84 [On Lot at Sodom]

77. And when our messengers (angels) came to Lot, he was grieved for them; but his arm was straitened for them, and he said, 'This is a troublesome day!'

78. And his people came to him, rushing at him, for before that they used to work evil. He 'Said, 'O my people! here are my daughters, they are purer for you; then, fear God, and do not disgrace me through my guests;- is there not among you one right-thinking man?'

79. They said, 'Thou knowest that we have no claim on thy daughters; verily, thou knowest what we want!'

80. He said, 'Had I but power over you; or could I but resort to some strong column....!'

81. (The angels) said, 'O Lot! verily, we are the messengers of thy Lord, they shall certainly not reach thee; then travel with thy people in the darkness of the night, and let none of you look round except thy wife: verily, there shall befall her what befalls them. Verily, their appointment is for the morning! and is not the morning nigh?'

82. And when our bidding came, we made their high parts their low parts (their town was made topsy turvy). And we rained down upon them stones and baked clay one after another,

83. marked, from thy Lord, and these are not so far from the unjust!

That they should be stoned. Don't laugh; it actually still happens in countries that have something approaching Shari'ah, like Iran. Every school of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) agrees. If anyone says differently, they're liberals who need to state *explicitly* that they are dissenting from traditional Islamic teaching. Frequently, Islamic liberals (or at least, those who want to appear before western media to be liberals) fail to note that their liberal views contradict every source of Islamic jurisprudence.

Hmm. I don't know if they have officially adressed that "situation." But I do know that they are strong in their faith, and they believe in purity, ritiousness, and doing things for the greater good, so I dont think they do.
No offense, but its a logical guess. I don t know for sure, you should talk to a pro.

Koran's related "ayet"s
15. If any of your women are guilty of lewdness, take the evidence of four (reliable) witnesses from amongst you against them; and if they testify, confine them to houses until death do claim them, or Allah ordain for them some (other) way.

16. If two men among you are guilty of lewdness, punish them both. If they repent and amend, leave them alone; for Allah is Oft-returning, Most Merciful.

17. Allah accept the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and repent soon after wards; to them will Allah turn in mercy: For Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom.

Bad translation ! In the original text, it is clearly talking about same sex relationships, but the translators want to hide it behind lewdness -:)

It varies. In places like Egypt and Pakistan, you'll see more tolerance. But in places like Iran, you'll see children hanged for it.
